Hi, I am sorry you are urting. Maybe applying heat would help. Like a soak in the tub or a heating pad. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I am here and in the same boat so to speak.
I know how you feel, and I hope your pain is better real soon!

I've had that in my arms, and had the walking-on-hot-coals thing also.
It usually subsides by itself after freaking me out.
Let your doctor know.
Maybe some neurontin would be a helpful script?
And some toxin-clearing regimen such as CSM?
Could this be a herx, maybe?
Sorry to answer your question with more questions.. :-(
I hope you're feeling better soon, this is a really creepy and painful feeling!

My worst symptom has been neuropathy -- often had the walking-on-coals deal, also (worse) pain in my calves, felt as though my skin had been stripped off and someone had salted my legs then and set them on fire. Fortunately I did get relief from Neurontin (still on it) and an addition of Elavil (small amount). But until then, what saved my life and sanity was a $1 jar of blue menthol gel. Seriously -- go look in your local dollar store or bite the bullet and buy it at your pharmacy for more.

Pre-diagnosis, when neuro symptoms were coming on quickly, I once went to the ER because it didn't subside. They gave me oxygen, and it slowly subsided. Possible coincidence.
