Do You Suffer Greatly After Eating Non Friendly Yeast/Candida Foods? Do You Herx?

If you eat fast foods, sweets, sugars, etc, breads, etc, do you herx the next day or so?

How badly?

When you eat well, do you see a great improvement in your health?

Have you recovered yet, how long did it take?

Any fast cleanses for yeast out there?

Thanks,

Rob-
When I eat wheat, I have lots of fatigue, stiffness and if I eat too much joint pain, yes, the next day or sometimes not for several days.

This reaction seems to take several days to work itself out and about a week before I feel really good again.

I have found that if I take my probiotic with the wheat or other sugar that I eat it helps to reduce the reaction. Exercising helps to burn these carbs more quickly getting them out of my system.

I don't eat fast foods and limit the sugars that I eat. I know I'm gluten intoleratnt so I'm just experimenting with reactions after eating different amounts of wheat.

I definitely have reactions from high carb foods, especially if they are refined...white flour,

white sugar, etc. Even a small serving makes me instantly full and tired and then the next day

I wake in a coma and areas of my skin, where there are fat deposits, actually hurt. It takes

a good day or two and a run or two to come out of it. Now if I eat whole grains and

even moderate amounts of organic sweeteners, I'm OK. I can have a little ww pasta, but white puts

under. I also noticed that depending on what stage the lymes is in, I either crave carbs or

want nothing to do with them. Dr. S from Maryland
talks about the whole process with carbs and

neurotoxins in his book. Before reading that I just thought it was me and my wierd cravings and

food cycles. It just amazes me how the tic borne stuff reeks havoc in all systems of our bodies.

If you are concerned with yeast but desire something sweet, check out Ultimate Sweetener

its birch bark sugar and processes differently than sugar in your body...doesnt feed yeast. [Razz]

Hi Rob--I had a severe systemic candida infection--so bad i couldn't get out of bed for a year. Everyone's level of candida and time to get well will be different, so that's a hard question to answer.

I will say this: diet is KEY. You will never rid yourself of high candida levels if you continue to feed the beasts--no matter what you're taking (diflucan, threelac, etc.) . I don't believe there IS a fast way to get rid of candida. It's a very stubborn organism that can survive on very little carbs.

I say don't give them the opportunity to breed or breathe--starve them, use a good antifungal (natural or allopathic--your choice), and stick to it for at least six months if not longer.

I don't pretend that you have anywhere near as bad a candida problem as I did four years ago, and you will likely feel immediate benefits from a low-carb diet and get well a lot faster than it took me to. But I can honestly say I've been on a lot of candida programs and nothing worked better for me than the Whole Approach prorgam/protocol.

It's definitely worth checking out, but it's no quick solution...

Good luck,
Ashley

My stomach and intestines hurt when I eat anything off-limits. Pain like when a muscle is overworked, only it's my whole stomach and intestines. Also, gas and then sometimes diarrhea.

Any wonder I don't cheat at all nowadays? [Roll Eyes]

I got into the halloween candy a bit yesterday and I'm paying for it today!

I am aching and have twitches and tremors. Also had a killer migraine today which I haven't had in many, many months. And right now I'm getting a sharp pain in my intestines!

Yup. Sugar is POISON.

Before understanding that I had Lyme, before it was too severe, I thought I couldn't eat sugary food, even went on a non-sugar, non-milk - diet. I reacted so bad to the sugary and diary-products.

Fatigue, brainfog, heavy legs and arms, depressed. When going on my diet I felt so much better. Not always, but in general.

Now, being treated for Lyme, it all makes more sense. I can occasionally have sugary food, but usually feel worse afterwards. I also stay away from a lot of carbs - sometimes I crave it though, but it definetively makes me feel worse if I give in to it.
