Sheesh I hope it's a mistake,I just started the Im Rocephin today and am supposed to take Mepron, Flagyl, and Diflucan too.

There is some issue w/ the Flagyl too on dosage,so they are checking, what can be done.

But $700 or more for the Mepron[yes the generic] just seems outrageous. We cannot afford that, especially not w/ the inusrance arguing what thye will and wont pay,as we go privatized...

Hellllpppppp.....OwOwoooooWoooooooorooooooooOOOHh,Sheesh it makes the Rocephin burn feel that much worse...Whats a Silverwolfish one to do? Gotta do something as I've had two 'Migranic Seizures' in the last two and a half days[just a bit to much stress right now]...I cannot keep letting the Lyme mess w/ mah verah own se'f.

Any info',thot's etc. would be greatly apprecaited. [TxCoord{my hubby-honey} is out checking a couple of other pharmacies, and running errands]. We've a call into our LD to see if there is a mistake, cost wise,as she has usually tried to make sure we have at least an estimate of cost.

We are in the middle of a move[different town],which will mean a tear down and redo set-up for the 'puter[going cable]. I can check in from TxCoords office in the meantime. Just the Silverwolf,,,sorta in price shock here.

There's a Patient Assistance program for Mepron. I would try contacting Bridges to Access and see if you can qualify. Try calling 1-866-PATIENT (1-866-728-4368) and see if the can help, k?

See thread below:
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=046921

You can run all your meds through the program listed at the bottom of that thread and it'll tell you what you may be eligible for.

Unfortunately, I believe a bottle of Mepron is that expensive. Malarone is considerably cheaper, althoguh not terribly affordable even so. 30 tablets are about $160.

Good luck and many hugs <<<<<<<<< Silverwolf >>>>>>>>>>
I hope something pans out.

Yep. You can always use clindamycin/quinine and/or artemisinin.

I got mine from Canada. It's slightly
less painful. I think around $500 if
I'm remembering correctly.

Yeah, Mepron is unbelievably expensive. Mine runs $1800 a month -- zoiks!!! So far the insurance has paid it -- I did four months of babs treatment, then relapsed immediately -- so on we go to round two.

You can do malarone for babs, which is less expensive, or the clindamycin/quinine, as others have suggested above. Not everyone can tolerate quinine drugs, though, and the more severe side effects are pretty scary.... that said, if I had to, I'd much rather take clinda/quinine than let my babs continue unchecked, as that was literally making life near-unbearable.

good luck to you!!!
