Has anyone experienced curing (i.e., reversal of both pain and inflammation) lyme arthritis with ABX, either oral or IV, or anything else? Thanks

My Joints are no longer swollen and my pain is much less.
I have used both IV and orals... almost all the abx I have taken helped.
I could not straighten my fingers for over a year and a half they were all crinkled swollen and killing me....
I also had pain in all the other joints in my body except my jaw and spine.
There is hope. Things can get better with treatment.

I was having really bad pain in my lower back and left shoulder last year that was making it difficult to do simple things like get into a car or put on my clothes last year. My knees and feet were and starting to bother me.
I had an LLMD at the time and she acknowledged that was part of it. The antibiotics were helpful for some symptoms, but didn't seem to help the pain.
What did finally help was something kind of unintentional. I was doing research on vintage medical electronics from Royal Rife's time, and was testing some of it that I was able to resurrect.
A couple of the old machines were physical diathermy generators that put heat deep into an injured area with radio waves. You don't want them running without a load, so I was putting the pads over my painful joints while measuring voltages, looking at waveforms, etc. The heat felt really good.
After a couple of days of this the pain went away. The Lyme DID NOT go away, but the joint and muscle pain did. I have kept a couple of those old antiques operable as the pain and inflamation comes back if you don't do anything.
Those old machines are pretty scary and I would not recommend anyone using electronics from the 1930's on themselves. Some of them had serious safety issues when they were new, and they have not gotten safer after 70 years of deterioration.
You can find modern diathermy machines in chiropractor and PT clinics, as well as some sports clubs. They do pretty much the same thing as they did in the 1930's.
It might be worth trying if you can find someplace that has one, preferably with the assistance of a trained operator.
It does not cure lyme, but it appear to be good physical therapy for the inflamed joints and tissues.

I use an hand-held three-light infrared unit made by Light Energy company -- I swirl it around my knee and the pain goes down temporarily.

Yep- all better- Have to go haul a boat. PM me if you want.
Since I started this journey 8 months ago with various antibiotics my joint and muscle is at it's worse. I can actually hear my bone splitting and cracking as I walk up the stairs. My right butt bone make it very difficult to sit at times.
Since my lyme diagnosis my MRI of my back in 1 year have become worse, spurs, degenerative discs, and my bone density showed osteopenia.
From my reading I know we need to replace our calciun,mg, vit d, and I have been taking gluclosomine (?) chondrotin.
My LLMD called it lyme arthritis, and hopefully the IV Roceph will help.
Any other suggestions for supplements ????

Lots of relief in the last four months.
Before starting treatment in July, I had very intermittent but extreme horrible joint pain in my shoulder (near where the tick bit), hip and toe joints!
After 3+ months of high levels of amoxy/doxy, I have not had these pains. No more pain in the toes (thought I had gout), no extreme shoulder and hip pain anymore.
Still some minor twinges though in other joints that never hurt before, like my knees. And my jaw joint, which was affected initially by the tick bite.
Am wondering if those will go with more abx, I am still on them.

I have had a year of pain affecting every joint in my body (except my elbow - for some strange reason!) before it began to attack the muscles as well. I had incredible pain at times and other times it was a nagging pain...but always there.
About 4 weeks into IV Rocephin, I began to feel alot better. I completed 8 weeks of IV and have been off for nearly 3 weeks now. I'm still feeling pretty good with very little pain.
My pain is mostly in my hands which are still swollen - hoping that will subside in the next few months. I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings for several months. But even if my hands never improve, I'm so grateful that the rest of body has been healed. The other joint pain is non-existent now. And the muscle strength is improving each day.
Do a search on IV Rocephin Buddies to see how some of us got through the treatment. And ask lots of questions here - this board is very helpful!!

I had lyme arthritis in every joint but my spine and hips. I was finally diagnosed with Rheum. Arthritis which can happen with Lyme.
I found a Leaky Gut Syndrome connection at www.drmcdougall.com. Lots more articles than that but this website said it best in an article titled "Hope for Arthritis". I tried the very restrictive vegan diet (no meat, dairy, eggs, sugar) he recommends and within 2 weeks had incredible improvement in the swelling and pain. This told me diet had something to do with my illness. I found a doctor who understands Leaky Gut and nutrition.
He diagnosed LGS as well as heavy metal toxicity and systemic yeast and parasites. Yeast and parasites go hand in hand with LGS.
We have been working together to heal my gut since April. By July, I was virtually painfree. The doctor says it will take a year or better to remove the metals (slow process) but the gut is healed and I have my life back.
Lyme started it all, but I do believe the LGS came from the 6 mths of antibiotics. For sure, if LGS is causing your swelling and joint pain, abx will not cure it. They will only make things worse.
It is worth looking into and ruling out. An easy test is to go on the vegan diet. It is the least inflamatory diet you can eat. If you see vast improvement within 2 weeks, then suspect a damaged gut and find a good doctor trained in nutrition. Most doctors and even LLMD's are not trained in nutrition.
