Our llmd recommends the capsules, but I would be interested in if it is OK to open them. Maybe you could make a smoothie with it in there! I know my dd would much prefer it to swallowing capsules.

Stomach acid really depletes potency.
Chewables are OK but not nearly as good as capsules which are coated to survive the stomach.
I would recommend taking the chewables along with yogurt, since the acidophilus likes yogurt.
I'm sure there are others here who might have more knowledge on the subject.
Also don't give the acidophilus with the ABX because the ABX will fight the Acidophilus instead of what it needs to & the Acidophilus will do no good.
You probably already knew that one, but I figured I'd throw it in just in case.

I took the high potency capsules ($25/bottle) for 15 months. My new LLMD recommended that I switch to the chewable ($8/bottle at GNC). I take 3/day and they are just as good. Actually better because they control yeast in your mouth.

I am wondering the same thing about the chewables? Because my son can't swallow anything bigger then a round motrin.

i was given the chewables in the hosp last year-it surprised me...they just gave them to me cuz i was on abx
the nurses aide was cute when she came to deliver them and explain they would help my immune system help me heal
its sort of a step in the right direction
this hospital also agreed to let me have ALL my supplements-but they took them from me, were approved by the pharmacist and then handed out to me thru the say (other hosps totally freked out when i asked to have my supps...i was afraid they would confiscate them?$$$?
progress...
