I was reading about how Lymies are often heavy metal toxic. I personally, somewhere along the line here, started developing copper blotches and copper INNER rings in both my eyes, though more in the right eye.

I thought maybe Wilson's Disease was really Lyme, even though in 'Wilson's' the rings appear along the outer edge of the colored part of the eye. Mine is the reverse...actually, it looks really pretty.

I found this info on copper...

Biomedical applications:
As a biostatic surface in hospitals, and to line parts of ships to protect against barnacles and mussels, originally used pure, but superseded by Muntz Metal. Bacteria will not grow on a copper surface because it is biostatic. Copper doorknobs are used by hospitals to reduce the transfer of disease, and Legionnaire's Disease is suppressed by copper tubing in air-conditioning systems.
Copper(II) sulfate is used as a fungicide and as algae control in domestic lakes and ponds. It is used in gardening powders and sprays to kill mildew.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper

Is the copper buildup (or any heavy metal) in the eyes and brain, for example, the body's way of protecting itself from microorganisms? Should we attempt to detoxify our heavy metals or will this make things worse?

I knew colloidal silver was antibacterial. This one kind of surprised me though. If I have too much copper, should I just leave it there? I would be okay with it, except I think my brain is like an antenna when I leave my house. lol Actually, I'm serious. Scary, huh? [Wink]

the same for the mercury, is a potent spiroquet-killer, used long time against treponema;
also i saw some articles that put in relation the bacterial gens which survive to heavy metals with gens in survive to antibiotics, are near in expresion

I finally figured out how to find my posts! (I think;)

Thanks for responding. I pulled this out of pq's link:

It is known that the abnormal cells in general and the neoplastic cells in particular are poor in copper, a fact which is considered as including and enhancing their abnormal character.

It is also known that the blood plasma of subjects with such abnormal conditions is especially rich in copper, apparently due to the body's attempt to correct the cellular copper deficiency.

The form under which the copper is circulating in the blood, that is, mainly as ceruloplasmin, however, is not the proper form from which the copper can be taken by the abnormal cells.

This means our bodies are holding onto metals like copper to keep us alive (fight infection).

What I find interesting is that the foods I have trouble with (wheat, soy beans, peanuts, sunflower seeds to name a few) are all listed as copper-rich food sources. Here are some more:

Some foods are especially rich in copper. These include most nuts (especially brazils and cashews), seeds (especially poppy and sunflower), chickpeas, liver and oysters. Natural foods such as cereals, meat and fish generally contain sufficient copper to provide up to 50% of the required copper intake in a balanced diet.

Excess body copper can be removed by means of specific chelating agents or by the consumption of high levels of zinc.

http://www.copper.org/health/papers/cu_health_uk/cu_health_uk.html

Are any of us really 'allergic' to these foods or are we reacting to too many metals?

metalotionine remove intracellular copper and put zinc, also remove mercury, has gsh as a component and need nadph; body cut g6pd as defense against intracellular parasites, and delay the nadph; posible metal intoxication as consequence of infection, or a part of the problem...

Copper is used by the body to wire the neuro pathways of the brain. Prions are just a specialised protein used by the body to transport copper for the brain. They are not infectous..

If the body can't get enough copper it will substitute other metals such as manganese which is plentiful in our enviroment (polluted with industral manganese). Other metals like alumnium and uranium (fallout from Nuke tests).

Manganese and other metals are not usable by the brain and disrupts the neuro pathways... As a result you get CJD disease in humans and Mad cow in animals due to copper deficiently.

Mark Purdy's findings
(Read the horror story about the Manganese miners of Australia under Articles:To the Ends of the Earth - Mark Purdey )

The Governments of the world don't won't admit to pollution as the problem so they cover it up..

I take three 2mg copper tablets a week. As most processed foods don't have much copper left...

I also have those orangy-copper rings around the pupils in my eyes. 2 holistic practitioners I've seen over the years noticed them, and both called them "a toxic ring".
