I'm getting suspicious. LDA site and petition often down too. (If indeed someone's messing with the site, this needs to be publicized by other means to get even more people to show up on Nov. 30!)

This is the only site I've had trouble with. It seems to be down most of the day. The last time I was able to not get an error message was 8am today, until just now. ~Ma

I am in mid-Atlantic.
I have not been able to get on when everyone else here is having the same problem.
I check other websites, both lyme and non-lyme, and this website is the only one that stalls.

Never had any problems with any sites ever, like I've had with Lymenet the past few days

I have been getting a bit paranoid about the site being inaccessible. The LDA site was also down. With all that is going on and all the news I am so anxious to read about, I have been having withdrawal pains.
Oh, and I live in the SE, in SE TN!

May I suggest?
Copy the Protest web site address down so you have it. Also get what you need from it now.. and check back for updates.

Just this morning while posting here, my antivirus alerted me it had stopped a worm attack. I wondered about this website which has been troublesome this week.

Perhaps we need something on the top of this website; such as Activism mailing list.
You could imagine that hacker attack on this website in a very fragile moment could destroy our efforts.

This might be a good time to make sure that all your important files are copied to a CD or DVD. If there is a new worm or virus on this site, you could loose everything. This happened to me about a year ago, and I lost so much irreplaceable info! I kept putting it off, and putting it off, and then it was too late.

If these suspicions can be confirmed, the word should get out on email lists. Might make people realize that this IS a war on patients, and encourage more people to come to the rally.

I couldn't get online for 3 days straight! It happened again this morning too. I tried to email lymenet webmaster and couldn't get mail to them either. hmmmmm....

Glad to know It wasn't just me. I've run scans, deleted cookies, rebooted and nothing's worked.
Those who got worm warnings, could you PM me the name of the AV software you're using? I haven't gotten any messages from mine. I'm wondering if the worm could have gotten by it.

One reason I'm suspicious is that when LymeNet is down, the LDA petition site has also been frequently down at the same time - *even while the rest of the LDA site is often working just fine*.
Why would that be?

it's often the most obvious reason that is the truth.
it's not a wide-spread problem in the northeast.
it's lymenet and the LDA petition site, simultaneously down, numerous times ..
NOW, precicely when we need the action(s) taking place.
take this very seriously, copy ALL action alerts and use the down time to circulate the information on the petition, on Blumenthols response to the guidelines, and on the RALLY to your communities, your addressbooks, your local papers, ect.
you can gather names and info of people who WANT to sign the petition, save it on a list to either enter into the website at times it is up, or to fax to an LDA support group leader to get the names entered that way.
take increased independent action, and keep these alerts active on all other sites and lists as well.
we will not go away, even if the main hubs are hacked.

Lou B will be back online 11-20.
Contact Tom if you are lucky enough to have his email; I don't!
Or email Jenifer or Toby; go to top of forum you are in and look for moderator's name. Click on one of them, and you'll get their profile. You can send a PM on the right side of profile.
It would really be nice for them to post a FEATURE at the top of each forum when we are having continuous problems of lymenet being down.

I contacted jenifer and she says they are working on it and don't know why it is happening. But I am pretty sure that I do. And if camp a is doing this, it is certainly a sign of what sleezeballs they are. Of course, we already knew that. They are not troubled by injury and death among lyme patients from their actions, why would they worry about a little computer hacking. And they have the money and connections to get this done.

If there is any way to document WHERE the site trouble is coming from -- what computer (and who) may be causing the trouble with this site and the LDA petition (which I have experienced too all the last week, though no problem with any other site) -- that would be SOME article to write and smoking gun!

i'm pretty sure the lymenet computer pros should be able to detect the origin of any hacking attempts. the community sure could use such a smoking gun. it would be something to have that info.
it's interesting that the site is working better now, post-stink that was made.

People have been caught and sent to jail for hacking. Computer sabotage is no longer considered a prank, but something more serious now that everyone has them and business runs on them.
