I am about to switch from Amoxy/Biaxin/Plaq to 1500mg tetra daily.

Can anyone tell my what to expect when switching over to Tetra, besides the sun issues?

I actually will be stopping my current meds over 3 days, and then dive right into the Tetra. With the holidays upon us, I need to plan this out somewhat!!!
Thanks,
Nancy

I think the hardest part is the taking it 3X day...scheduling the probiotics 2 hours after etc.

I liked the tetra, skin looked great. Just the scheduling was hard for me.

I went on 1500mg of tetra after no treatment for 5 months. Timing doses and suppliments was my main issue. Very little sun problems for me on tetra, unlike doxy.

It did take 10 months of extreme fatigue and low grade pain before I felt better. I saw a chiropractor after about 5 months for the stiffness. Tetra did the trick for me. It did take 2.5 years and improving what I thought was a pretty healthy diet and eliminating as many chemicals as possible. Purged yeast at the end with several months of diflucan and then discovered remaining pain was causes by a gluten intolerance.

All better now.

Best of luck with the new treatment.

Thank you everyone...

Could you let me know if you were taking tablets or capsules?

My LLMD wants me on tablets, which are very hard to find.(He says they are much easier on the stomach). In fact, I have my pharmacist scouting them out for me as we speak.

Has anyone had any stomach issues with Tetra? And, how about herxing?

I have now been on 3 months with tetra 1500mg, also 3 days/week with Metro. I feel okay on tetra, but metro really kicks.

It was difficult in the beginning to remember to take it three times a day and then food etc in between. Now, after three months, it's okay. And I don't really get any sideeffects which I did from doxy and I get from Metro. I do fine on Tetra by itself. Mood is good, body feels okay, pressure in my head is relieved - feels like a different me.

But of course, with 3 days Metro in between, I always come down with a crash - tired and moody.
