Thanks for all the help this site has afforded me. Results of last spinal, 1 band.

Numerous brain lesions, to look at my mri you would think I was retarded or 1/2 functioning!

No tingling, numbness, or walk gait problems.

On iv rosephrin 20 days now. The one sympton I had was a very severve headache which went away on day 13 of iv med.

Although my neck and shoulders are sore and I do feel achy.

4 mri, 2 spinal taps, 1 evoked potential since 10/3/06. Visual delay on evoked, 1 spinal, and the last one had ONE oglioclonal band?? What the heck!!

I have an appt. w/ Dr D. on 12/9/06. I just started all the core herbal in Healing Lyme by Buhner.

I am distraught, overwhelmed and just depressed. My ex. called and said I better take out disability insur. just in case. I am type a overachiever and run a hundred miles a minute.

Thanks everyone, if anyone has some same experience w/ bands please write.

Oh boy, 1 spinal tap sure seems like enough to me, poor thing.

As most here know, MS and Lyme can present exactly the same way to include---Oligoclonal banding, abnormal evoked potentials, lesions.

So, if your question is targeted at differential diagnosis there really is no way to distinguish thru diagnostic testing.

Here's a little blurb from the NIH with regard to the neurlogic aspects of Lyme disease,

"Cerebrospinal fluid abnormalities may include lymphocytic pleocytosis, intrathecal IgA, IgG, and IgM synthesis, anti-myelin basic protein antibodies, oligoclonal bands , and increased total protein"
NIH GUIDE, Volume 22, Number 5, February 5, 1993

I would think that since your one symptom has subsided while on abx, you are on the right track. Did you have a Western Blot?

I saw all the info. on the topic you started 08/27/06. Very helpful. My neuro. asked for a western blot, but the lab would not do it because elisa was negative. Now I guess I have to be off abx for 2 weeks and get someone to draw my blood and sent it to igenexs??

4 negative first tier lyme test.

Thanks for the response.
