Anyone else get bruises and hard tissue areas under the skin from Sub-Q heparin injections?

jjeennnniiee, I too have elevated liver enzymes although mine have ranged between 50-60 and 100-120. Not sure if the heparin or chelation is causing this.

That you should get some pretty nasty bruises around a heparin injection site is not at all surprising; heparin inhibits blood clotting bigtime-- that's its main use.

I have read, though, that anti-clotting agents can inhibit lyme, as well as help alleviate the symptoms. And I had very good effects from gingko biloba, which is a natural mild anti-clotting agent.

But be careful with heparin. If you have any history of bleeding or bruising make sure your doc knows that.

Bruises -- always.
As for the liver issue, I don't know.

I took Heparin for over a year. What I found was giving the shots lower in the stomach helped a lot. Also, do them slowly. They don't seem to bruise as much.

And yes, I had a hard time after awhile finding spots that weren't hard to get the needle in.

Someone suggested the top part of the thigh. Ouch! I tried it once and it hurt for a long time. Maybe others have had better success than I have on that.

I mean, call me vain but I didn't want my stomach sticking out from bruises and the lower the shots, the less that happened.

As I continued Xango, my blood became thin enough that I had to stop the Heparin. Was it the Xango? I honestly don't know. I'm not on abx but used the Rife machine and am now using the KMT24 (but have only been for a month).I got off Heparin 3 or 4 months ago.

I had blood work done recently without the Heparin and it was fine although my doc is going to do a complete workup - coagulation and everything in the next few months so we'll see.

Also, any ladies who have had C-sections, if you have areas that are numb, my nurse said it was fine to put the Heparin there - you don't feel a thing!

Yep, the bruising is normal and to be expected.

I would blame abx for the elevated enzymes before blaming chelation or heparin!

My stomach looks like that too. I have never had a problem with my liver though. I've been on Heparin for about 9 months.

I bruised awful from heparin injections. I found that putting ice on the site before and after helped a lot.

I finally got my insurance company to agree to the heparin sublingual troches which are a godsend instead of the injections.

I have been doing the heparin injections around the waistline to hide the swolen bruises that, from reading your replies, are part of the deal.

In addition to this I have been on Lumbrokinase to help breakup the fibrin and work at thinning the blood.

Karatelady, what has your initial feeling been using the KMT 24? I have considered this device; however, everytime I get half of the money saved I have to pay for another out-of-pocket blood work-up or dr. visit.

I thought that the abx were the cause of my elevated liver enzymes but I have been on a abx holiday for about 2-months and my enzymes continue to be elevated.

One test was done the day after I had some amalgam filings removed and this test was my highest to date.
