I had Lyme since I was 12, before my first kiss. As far as I know, nobody I ever kissed, including someone I dated over 3 years and am still in touch with, has Lyme.
If Lyme was contagious through saliva/kissing, it would be even more rampant than it is. Mono spreads like wildfire through college dorms. Lyme doesn't.

Body fluid transfer is contageous. Many people come in contact with the bacteria, etc., yet their system handles it and they do not get ill.
I gave it to my husband and he came down with Lyme(and more) 1-1/2 years later. The stress dealing with my problems early on caused him to get sick a year or more down the road.
Take it seriously.
