Got more complaints from patients that they went to their doctor and they were not able to get treatment for Lyme.
Except for 2 weeks worth of doxy.
One patient was in the middle of a 3 month course of IV... went in for a follow up .. and they were told sorry.. can't do it. It's 2 weeks of doxy or nothing.
Maybe we should have planned the protest AFTER everyone got cut off? Maybe more would come then? I just don't think folks REALLY know this could be THEM. They may think it always happens to the "other guy".
But...
Not any more.
It's happening already. And unless we do something NOW.. we are stuck with at least 5 more years... or MORE of this insanity.
By the way.. this patient contacted me to see if they could still sign up to go to the protest. THIS situation made them mad... and MADE them decide to go.
Soooooooooooooooooooo..
Go now.. so next month this hopefully won't happen to YOU or YOUR family.. and then it be too late to do anything about it.
And I was thinking...
Don't we ALL owe it to the LLMD's who have been there for us to go there and do something to help THEM?

People who think they are safe, that it won't happen to them, need to think again. This is the whole point of issuing those IDSA guidelines....to cut us ALL off and put the lyme docs out of business.
It will be too late to get mad after the fact. Read the writing on the wall. It is saying that now is the time to protest.

You are so RIGHT!
I have ALWAYS been one of the lucky few with everything to back me up Lyme wise.
Not anymore!
The language even cuts me out with positive blood tests, positive biopsy, and having lyme while preggers. Also I have evidence of a persisitent infection.
If they can deny me and I am pretty sure they will, then others DON'T stand a chance!
I am going! Most people would think they CAN'T deny you (meaning me) because you have all this proof.
Well folks the IDSA says otherwise.
GET YE TO VALHALLA!

Tincup - If anybody who contacts you is willing to share their information with me, please ask them to email me their name, and exactly what happened, along with whether the doctor mentioned the IDSA guidelines.
If I have statements in writing, I can reference them in my paper. I will not use their names in the article, I need their names on the documentation because any journal that publishes will want to be able to confirm the source.

I am surprised that they offered him another two weeks of doxy. IDSA guidelines clearly state that 3 weeks of abx is enough.
If he has received already 3 months of treatment he shouldn’t have been offered anything else.
This doc demonstrated unusually good heart and truly too much patience with this patient and may loose his medical licence for taking the risk.

You are right, TC.
I never thought it would happen to me.
I never saw a tick or rash. I've worked outdoors for decades.
Never saw this coming and never took it seriously...really. I had the: "I've never been sick." Blah,blah,blah....
*WHAM* !!! Then, tx was hell.
Lucky to get tx and mad that some would accuse us of *wanting* this!!!
I cried when I saw children so ill with TBDs.
I cried when I heard the testimony of the mother at Dr. J's hearing.
I cried when I read all the nightmare medical negligence on Lymenet and other sites.
I am done crying...
I wonder if Wormser ever shed a tear for a pt?

2 weeks of Doxy. This is criminal.
Lesson here is....If you think you have Lyme or other TBDs ...
SEE A VETERINARIAN!!!! You'll get more humane treatment!
Or better yet....
Get to the Protest!!!! We are a force if we stand together!
If not, we suffer alone!

FOCUS, in another area, tincup, asked us all NOT to contact other state attorney generals; there is a bigger picture coming!
So please scratch that idea; read it in activism by TC! thanks!!
