What convinces me more than anything that the IDSA is perpetrating deliberate fraud is their total disdain and apathy towards the lyme community. I mean if 300 people showed up on your lawn carrying signs and yelling, wouldn't you be even the least bit curious ?
Maybe, just maybe, take a little look-see and at least talk to them ? It's more than arrogance and burying themselves in their Ivory towers, secure in their "research grants", or "consultation" fees.
Do they really think that a couple million people are going to go home, shut up, live lives of misery and just die off ?

I'm sure Westchester was thrilled to have ill children protesting their "accredited" doctor's. One young child had a banner that read:
"All I Want For Christmas is My Medicine."
God Bless these young one's.

I have no doubt there's thousands that died from lyme complications yet, the illness was labeled as some other ailment at death.
Looking at the names on this list, either the deceased have the same last name or there's multiple members in one family who've died from lyme.
Apparently, these folks didn't get the ONE, 100mg pill of doxy at initial treatment to prevent their death.

I thought maybe tullemore dew was some kind of natural herb for co-infections, so I looked up on answers.com. DUH! I need to mellow out a bit....not everything is about lyme! Maybe I need some tullermore dew.

Picture #6 that NP posted is a photo of Melanie's Memorial Project list of names of people who have passed away from Lyme and tick borne diseases. There are over 175 names on the list so far... unfortunately.
It was printed on a long sheet of paper.. one name at a time.. and was almost 14 feet long.
The printing place couldn't get a part for the printer after it broke down earlier this week.... so I had to pick the Memorial Park Project List up late the night before I left for the Rally.. prepared in a different fashion.
The Memorial List was suppose to be 8 feet long.. and mounted nicely on a stand to take and place there. I so wanted it to be perfectly displayed and a tribute to our lost friends and families.
Due to the increased size of the list of names at the last minute.... I couldn't fix it in time.. so the list was carried to the protest and was laid respectfully along the side of the hill behind the main protest area.
It showed the world that those who have passed were there in our hearts and memories during this much needed protest.
It was so beautiful. I was proud they were there with us resting on the hillside... overlooking all of the activity and our efforts.

Gosh, this is so amazing. I am so grateful to all those that participated in this rally!! Thank you guys so much!!
Darn! I want to know who everybody is in those photos - they are my friends!
Eew, there are pictures of Wormser on that website that savebabe posted - way too many in fact.
Wormser is shown holding up samples of ticks - a perfect photo of ``Which bugs should we try to eliminate first?''.
If you go to the website, look under ``Galleries'', then click on ``Daily'', and then use the search box and type in ``Lyme''.

My heart is so full of emotions when reading the stories and seeing the photos...
but the greatest is the gratitude that I feel for each of you who were there to represent all of us in body, heart and spirit.
There just aren't accurate words to even come close to describing that depth of emotion.
I am sorry to say that the list of names topped 218 last night.
I still feel so strongly that we are barely scratching the surface of the devastation to lives affected by TBD associated fatalities.
My most sincere and heartfelt thank you to each who have paved the way and who have shone the light and who have given your all for the rest of us who could not in the past and can not currently...
So that in the future...those yet to follow will never have to endure what those who have gone before them have.
Much love and eternal admiration and gratitude, Melanie

Hi everyone I haven't posted too much about this because I felt bad I couldn't be there..One reason is distance and the other is I am just way too ill too have ever made a trip like that but in my heart I wanted to be there more than anything in the world.
I want to thank ALL of you who went and stood up for ALL of us.. Also I want to say thank you for posting all the pictures. I have to admit I started to cry as I was looking at them for all of us who are still so sick and not getting help. I also cried because here it is 16 yrs after my initial diagnosis and we are STILL fighting to be treated and havent gotten that far in all these years.
I got sick when I was 20 and I think of all the children who haven't even started out in life yet and they are starting it out sick and it makes me hurt to the soul.
I saw the picture of Dr B but can someone tell me who the other man was in the blue suit? Thanks Robyn

The blue-suited guy is NY State Assemblyman Joel Miller of Poughkeepsie, who gave a great, rousing speech. He has been a strong advocate and pushed for OPMC reform in NY.
For anyone with pictures, maybe go to www.lymenews.org and email - ask how to get them posted? The LDA photos are on that site too, so they'd be all in one place.

joel miller has been an incredible force for all of us nationally as an NY legislator, truly committed and a real pit-bull on the issues -- our issues, as we saw at the rally.
