Hi all - thought the following might be of interest to this board. First a little history - our son was stricken about 6 years ago with intense fatigue - symtoms of POTS - basically incapacitated. About two years ago we got a diagnosis of Lyme via a blot.

Upon this we embarked on just about every antiobiotic out there and just about every combination described on this site - including IV Rocephin and Vanco - though there was some improvement there was still not enough energy to even be home schooled. Desperate we changed tack.

We have reduced his antibiotics to minimal levels and have resorted to herbal treatment - boiling teas of plants and roots every 2 nights.

Hard to describe and believe but he now has an appetite, restorative sleep and will be meeting with a tutor tomorrow for the first time in almost a year. Progress is slow, but his systoms appear to be stabilizing, (though we haven't really loaded on the school yet per recomendation.)

Just wanted all to know that there are alternatives to antibiotics that might be worth considering if you plateau.

We have been here before only to be set back, but this time it just feels different. I have no vested interest in purporting any one treatment. We have just about tried them all.

Best wishes to all those out there.

Hello lymeguy --

my best wishes for your son's continued health and improvement. It is great that you have found a way. I also have been helped from herbs such as cats claw and the Buhner's herbs (andrographis, resveratrol, garlic).

Could you share with us what herbs, plants and roots you have been preparing for your son? That information is of interest! thanks and good luck to your family.

I can understand your desperation as you watched your child suffer .

How did you find out about the herbs that have helped with the disease?

Please share anything that might be useful to the readers here , as many are likewise desperate without success with ABX , or having no access to the meds .

I SINCERELY hope your precious child makes a FULL recovery SOON . He has missed out on soooo much ! Grace to your family , jen

Yes, yes, please share the tea recipies and for what symptoms/ pathogens did they help!!

It's a wonderful thing to see our children well again. I got similar experience with my daughter, she thrived in herbs after non-successful abx treatment (early lyme stage).

Thanks a lot and very good luck,
Selma
