Can you crush nystatin tablets and swish them around to get in your mouth and down you throat?Is there any technique to this?Do i mix them with water?Is it real bitter?I dont have thrush but I have noticed when I eat carbs my saliva get thick and stringy and i get real congested and have to spit up constantly.If I stay off carbs my throat and saliva stay much more clear.Sounds like yeast to me but never had any thrush.Ive also noticed my skin burns and gets scaley when i eat carbs.A few days with out carbs though and I am running on empty.Stuck between a rock and a hardplace.Thank you ,Joe.

Hi Joe,

I have crushed Nystatin tabs and put them in water to dissolve, it tasted horrible! I added Stevia to it to sweeten it up, it didn't help much. It did help the oral the yeast somewhat, but not as well as acidophilus in your mouth.
------ Open a capsule and hold it in your mouth until it dissolves completely. I prefer Acidophilus to Nystatin it just tastes better [lick]

Also try Grapefruit Seed Extract (pill form) and don't chew it, swallow it. You wouldn't want to chew this one ewwwww [puke]

Hey Joe,

Yeah, I have done same thing as Lisi. I was desperate so I chewed it up, but it tasted very bitter. [Eek!]

I know there is Nystatin powder you can get from the doctor, but I have never tried it. I have taken Grape Fruit Seed Extract and Diflucan they both worked good for me.

I hate the yeast stuff, hope you feel better. [Wink]

I get my Nystatin from a Pharmacy that compress it.

It is powder in caplets. It gets delivered in the mail. (I could pick it up but it is not close to me)

Then, I have to keep them refrigerated.

I never taste a thing! [lick]

I take Sacro-B too.

It says specifically in the "patient info" NOT to crush them!!!

Also try Pau d'Arco tea.
