Yahoo is asking people to name 2006's "most underreported story." (Link follows). I signed up (it's free) and posted that I thought the new Lyme treatment guidelines was under-reported and why it mattered. How about if some of you others do the same?

Sounds as if this would give the new LD treatment guidelines more publicity & I would hate to see that happen.
I was thinking that the most under-reported story should be the "true story" about Lyme and other Tick-borne Diseases.
* How the medical community is seriously divided on diagnosis & treatment of Lyme disease. * How Lyme is misdiagnosed.
* LD is usually undertreated IF it's diagnosed. * Too much incorrect information about Lyme.
* LLMDs are being called before Medical Boards, which takes so much of their time, many thousands of dollars, & convinces drs they should not get involved with Lyme patients.
* Lyme patients are being left with NO one to treat them (ex: in North & South Carolina, as well as other states, hundreds of people are desperately seeking LLMDs to help them).
* Children are too sick to enjoy their childhood. * People are losing quality of life.
* Many are sinking into bankruptcy because they are too sick to work. * Some are dying from lack of treatment.
etc. etc.
So, so sad to see what is happening & the "powers that be" are turning their back on the situation.

I'd say put whatever version of lyme as being an underreported news story--and post it on as many forums as you can.

jb, thanks for posting but i can't read this since you used the long web email address; please correct this and use the tinyurl command ok; instructions below. big thanks!
Also if you get a SUPER WIDE post, go to the BOTTOM of the screen. Look to the left hand side and chose PRINTER FRIENDLY VIEW on the same line as HOP TO ______ section ...medical or general, etc. Carol in PA passed this along to me. I use it daily now
from LOU to Betty on LONG web links and Thank You Lou!: "If you hit the return key in the middle of a link, I don't think it will be clickable anymore. An alternative that maybe Betty should be telling people about is the tiny url website. I have it on my tool bar at the top of the page and use it for those incredablylongwebsiteaddresses.
All you have to do is ask tiny url to produce a short version, which it will do with a unique address, which you then use instead in your post. Works just the same when clicked! Here is the website, spread the word! http://tinyurl.com/

Is anyone else having problems with reading the answers ( all 4618 of them ), to the most underreported story? I can't read all.... of anyones answers, just parts of it. Well, I'll go back, I really didn't try to put in an answer to their question. Even if I can't read what everyone else posted I hope I can add my answer.
