(Sorry)
I have had pale clay like stools for the last 3 days. Also some abdominal pain in the upper right side, just under my rib cage.

Adrenal? Liver? To many antibiotics or to much infection?

Von,

Pale stools are a sign of liver, gallbladder or pancreas disease. Here is a link about it http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/pale_stool.htm

Upper right abdominal pain is a pretty typical sign of gallbladder problems. Is the pain severe? My LLMD told me that if I have severe pain there, I am to get it looked at ASAP. If you have gallbladder attack, it's because a gallstone is stuck and it can burst and be very dangerous very quickly.

If it's not severe and you don't feel you need to deal with it tonight, then call your doctor ASAP in the morning.

I had pale stools when I was on Burbur, which is a detox. My doctor thought it was because it was stimulating the liver.

Light color stools mean the bile is not coming out -- could either be a stone or spasms or simply lack of nutrients. Need to eat fat to cause the bile to be released from the gallbladder. Bile is what gives the stool its dark color.

A couple of easy things to try are a castor oil pack and juice of one lemon with 1 or 2 tablespoons of good fats -- olive oil or flax oil. This mild liver flush works best if done just before bed. Could simply try a heating pad if you don't have the castor oil. Don't try this if you think it could be a stone. Could also use liquid phosphatidylcholine for the fat.

You should probably have a liver enzyme blood test done to see how bad the problem is.

What is considered pale stool - light brown, or is it grayish?

Thanks for all your responses.

My pain is mild but I do seem to have a lump on my rt side just under my rib cage. Maybe the size of a large marble (smaller then an egg)

Maybe I am making this up and its my lowest rib that is tender.

Stool is light yellow with a ting of brown. Clay like.
The color if I mixed mayonaise and brown mustard together. (sorry) Not quite that loose though.

Von,

Are you by any chance on IV Rocephin? Gallstones are common on IV Rocephin.

You definitely want to get this addressed quickly. If you don't deal with it tonight, please call your doctor first thing in the morning, and mention the lump.

I don't know if you can feel a gallstone or not. But the gallbladder is below the right ribs. As is the pancreas.

Aniek,
No, not on IV at this time. I had one month ceftriaxone a year ago and have been on oral antibiotic combinations since, with 2 three week breaks.

I tested positive for babesia early on, but it has not been treated, and now is not showing up.

I wonder if this has something to do with babs.

I did have gallbladder 'debris' without stones on a ultrasound (whatever that means) in 9-05.

I had lyme then, but didn't know it yet.
