I found a good way to get a hot compress on the eyes. I use a wash cloth in a gallon baggie and put hot water in the bag, drain the water and then seal the bag. I also do one in cold water. Then I alternate between the cold and hot every 3 minutes. This really helps to reduce the itch in my eye lids.
Putting the wash cloth in the baggie keeps my face and bed stay dry and the cloth stays hot way longer since the water can't drip or evaporate.

Thank you for sharing. I have not had an itch on my eye lid yet, but I bet that can be very aggravating.

It is outright annoying. It started a few weeks after I went on the salt/c and continues. It is real difficult soaking the eyes while I am at work. That is the only advise I ever got from an eye doc "go soak your eyes 3 times a day for 20 minutes". That just doesn't work real well. In case you didn't know.... the blood flow is real slow around and in the eyes so the "you know who's" just love to meet there.

Putting the hot one in the microwave helps heat it up better and the cold one in the refrig.

John, I was a bit concerned when I read this. YOu are using microwaved plastic compresses on your eyes which leach god knows what.
Plastic wrap even says do not let it touch your food. Just re-consider take a look at the facts concerning microwaved plastic. Or just leave a bag in there a little longer till it starts to melt. This is something you dont want to have sitting on your eyes.
I have terrible itchy eyes and lids that's why this post caught my eye. It is a pain doing the compresses. I have to do it 3x day. I just discovered this product which has really helped.
OCuSOFT Lid Scrub. It's not cheap. The eye doc says you can get the same effect cleansing the lids with baby shampoo or Dr. Bronners peppermint soap diluted. I have tried both they do work.

Oh I don't get it that HOT in the microwave. It only gets up to around 120F and that is plenty hot when alternating with the cold 40F pack from the refrig.
But I think I will leave the microwave alone. I wnat to get rid of it and get a convection oven.
I have really hot water in my house. It is usually around 130F. I use that too. Just run the water in the bag. I can also heat some water up on the stove. That would work too.
Just putting a few wash cloths in the baggies really helps as that takes a long time to cool off.
I do not use the Microwave for cook any more. There is a good article on the curezone as to the dangers of ingesting food or water from teh microwave.
Today I laid down on a table with head and abdomen hang off to the floor.
This is good way to get all those blood vessels to expand in the head!!
I have been using Rue Fennel eye wash.
My lower left eye lid is a little swollen. It just won't drain out. It has been that way for 6 weeks now.
