I have a couple questions under different topics i was hoping i could get some help on .

1) Background:
i've had lyme now for 20 years, though only diagnosed correctly 4 years ago. I'm infected with a double strain of lyme (caught at two different times, probably different countries).

i also had hepatitus B back in 91-93...it was after this that i noticed increasing # of lyme symptoms as well as increasing level of severity in symptoms already had. (no longer a carrier of hepatitus virus though - so says the liver specialist.)

2) does anyone know if there's been any kind of study linking the two illnesses? it's just such a strange coincidence that the lyme got worse after hepatitus - but all my docs. have said no- there's no correlation.

3) how much damage am i doing to myself if i've taken some time off from lyme treatements due to $ and increasing illness caused by lyme. I've had 3.5 years of treatment so far - including IV Rocephin for 5 months, orals, shots, the reg.

4)i've only been out of treatement for 6 months - and granted i feel better due to less herxing but i can also tell the lyme symps. seem to be worsening if not still the same (i don't know if it's just in my head or not that i might be getting worse since i went untreated for 6 months.)

sorry for all the questions - i'm new here and i have a lot to ask ..but i'll try to keep it down.

thanks

sorry your post was on the bottom of screen 2 when i found it now with NO REPLIES!

certain people add all these articles/pub med, etc. and the MEDICAL QUESTIONS newbies like you are asking are bumped to screens 2-3 before i happen to come across you and raise you to the top for answers ! [Mad]

i do think it's time we added another forum for: ARTICLES/PUB MED.

it's critical we help folks answer medical questions when they first come here; this isn't happening due to all articles many folks are now posting.

i'll start a new thread on this issue! [Frown]

i do know hep C is a co-infection of lyme; don't know about hep B.

check any of melanie reber's posts she originatees; click on LYME MEMORIAL SITE;

look for CO-INFECTIONS; she's got a huge list somewhere; that might help you a little! [Wink]
