i don't know much about rmsf, so ceftin sounds new to me.
fwiw, search the tetracycline class of "abx + rmsf", or
"rmsf treatment".
talk with others who live in colorado, and other states where this is known to occur with significant frequency.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Did she take a pic of that rash?
Im pretty sure either doxy or one of the tetracyclines are the abx of choice for RMSF.
Im sure others will be along soon....
