Hi everyone,

Just for the record, my headache is getting better but I have something that is kinda bothering me. About 10 days ago my regular MD ordered a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound on me because I was having pain on my right side. I had the ultrasounds today and I went up the testing center to pick up the results. I read over them and it said I had a 5cm cystic structure on the right ovary and that Ovarian cystic neoplasm is not completely excluded. It recommended follow-up in 2-3 months. I had a pelvic ultrasound back in Sept 06 and it said I had cyst on both ovaries( functional cysts and now I have a huge cyst on one and it did not mention functional cyst like the ultrasound did back in Sept. In Sept 06 I had functional cyst on both ovaries and now I have a 5 cm cyst on the right ovary and it doesn't say functional. I am kinda worried about cancer now. My pap smear was normal a few months ago and I had over 10 ultrasounds during my last pregnancy over a year ago. Wouldnt they have found it then? My husband said not to worry and that it could be my hormones are off because of the lymes and that if it was really bad, they wouldn't have said to follow up in months. Thats all I have been doing is worrying because I won't be able to see my Dr for a few more days and my mind is racing a million thoughts. Has anyone else had this problem before? Thanks guys, you are great!!!!!!!!

Hugs to all

Ally

Hi there!

Many of my friends and family had cysts on there ovaries and actually had them removed. None of them were cancer, but the docs figured it was better to remove them because they kept increasing in size.
One interesting thing was that my cousin who had ovarian cysts for years moved from LI to Michigan and would you know it, the cysts stopped forming. Makes you really think about environmental factors.
Is there any way you can get a second opinion?
Good luck and feel better.

Hi Allysp,

So sorry you are going through this. Any kind of pain stinks! If I was having pelvic pain I would be worried and concerned about it too.

I had pelvic pain for years and had all kinds of tests, CT scan, ultra sounds etc, which showed nothing, so for me I think it was probably my bladder or inflamation in my intestines. My GYNO did think I had a cyst and was gonna open me up..but I said no. I hate surgery and already had enough of them.

Does your doc think that the cyst is what is causing your pain?

Maybe your doc can do a blood test to check for cancer in the body, my LLMD did this for me. It does help to relieve the stress and worry.

I hope you find out what is causeing the pain and you feel better soon. Keep us posted. [group hug]

CA 125 is the name of the blood test that detects early cancer. Getting this test may help ease your mind. [group hug]
