I am a newbie here but I hope you can help!

I just went through all the blood work today. I have an appointment to go over the results next week, which will most likely start the antibiotics.

When I start, should I expect to start to feel better soon? I have heard that it gets much worse before it gets better.

I am supposed to travel soon but I dont want to if I am going to feel worse!

Just getting a little nervous about starting treatment, Thanks for your help!!

It depends on your treatment and on how long you've had Lyme. I've not had major, life-stopping herxes like others here. More like headaches, joint aches, muscle aches, sometimes needing a 30 minute nap at 4PM, etc.

The worst was when I started abx I was also taking herbs and lots of vitamins - too much for the intestines to handle, so I was chained to the bathroom for a few weeks. Once the LLMD had me drop everything but the abx and probiotics I did much better.

Every person's body is different, so just step into this and roll with the tides. It will be OK and you'll come out better on the other side. [group hug]

Hi thall1981,

Welcome to LymeNet. [Smile]

We are all different, but herxing depends on how sick you are, if you have co-infections or toxins.
And some people never herx at all, there are some people who never did, they jsut felt better with treatment.
So maybe you will be a person who just feels better and better?

Hang in there and keep us posted. [group hug]
