I was diagnosed with lyme in 2005, i was severly sick to the point where i was unable to care for my 2 year old and 9 month old at the time. I was a single mother, during the last 2 years i have been seeing a llmd and a nutritionist with supplements.
I had gotten to a point that the dr. tried taking me totally off antibiotics. for 6 months all i was taking were immune enhancing pills vitamins ect....
during tis time me & my childrens father got back together and actually got married! Nov. 06. Unplanned i accidentally got pregnant in december. I ALWAYS felt a little worse around my periods hormons or whatever but Now i am soooooo sick.
I have always been against abortions, but i am so sick i am scared to continue. Fevers everyday right now. Herxing on amox. really bad head symtoms to the point i can barely lift it alot of times. my arms and left side keep going numb soo many symtoms
i am alrewady 8 weeks and the doc. says to wait to see if things get better, that was 4 weeks ago and i just feel soo sick n horrible. i just don't have that much support on this and i am scared. i know i could get on some better stronger med if i weren't prenant, plus how do i know even if i continued to battle this that my baby wouldn't be affected when i am soooo sick right now,
Anyones advice on what to do to try n feel better physically or advice on this serious prob. i would deeply appreciate.

I delivered two babies before being diagnosed with late lyme. The pregnancies and recoveries were so hard I was lucky if I could lift my head three hours a day.
What helped me was getting on natural progesterone cream. My adrenals were all worn out, and I couldn't produce the hormones needed to maintain a healthy pregnancy.
You might want to do a hormone saliva test and find out if your hormone levels are normal or if you need supplementation. To find a doctor who will do this, check with a compounding pharmacy, and they can give you a referral.
If you go this route, don't confuse synthetic progestins (from horse's urine) with natural progesterone delivered by injection or skin cream.

Thank you for ur advice bejoy,i will most definatly check in to that. thank you. did you find relief from that therepy? wow 2 pregnancies with these horrible symtoms, god bless you n ur children, how are ur children if u don't mind me asking?

I had five pregnancies before I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme. Each one got to me more difficult than the previous.
My youngest is 8, and quite honestly, at this point I forget all the suffering I went through at the time and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything in the world! I can't imagine my life without even one of them.
Take care of yourself as best you can ... in 7 more months you will be so glad you did.

I didn't know that I had Lyme, but I delivered 3 healthy babies the past 7 years. I had a strong episode of Lyme in 2003 and last year, my life went to hell. My youngest is 17 months old. If it wasn't for my husband, I wouldn't be able to take care of my kids. I'm currently taking heavy seizure drugs to control pain and an unwanted pregnancy would be a nightmare - I would have to abort because Dilantin causes bad birth defects. Check out your meds. I found http://kellymom.com very helpful when it comes to drugsafety during lactation and pregnancy. If your drugs are safe for baby - please keep it. I wouldn't want to miss any of mine, even if it's hard sometimes. You have to make up your own mind, maybe call right to live and talk to them, don't forget the drug issue. Babies are such a wonderful thing, if you decide against it, you might have to deal with emotional trauma for the rest of your life. Once again: If it's safe for both of you, please keep the baby.

thank you all for adding ur own personal expierences with this incredibly tough topic. i can not belive how this disease literally disabled my life at such a young age myself. i am 27 yrs. old and feel ALOT older inside. i apprieciate all of ur different opinions. Its helping me understand more.
