Anyone know how mold affects a bacterial infection [ex: the lyme spirochete]?

Or, if not, a place where I could go for information?

Mold Warriors is a good place to start. Not sure that it impacts it per se, but if you have both, the neurotoxic load on the body is likely higher and thus the combination produces a more serious illness. I have problems with both.

Mike,
I'm not sure if this is the type of answer you're looking for, but some antibiotics are made from mold.

How did you get the mold out of your system? ive been suspecting a fungal/mold infection with the lyje, hence all the toxins.
i ahve soo many toxins my hair and eyealshes are burned and i get hourly attacks where i fry .
i dont know how to eradicat this issue.
i know getting rid of mold in the house will help , but how can u get rid of it from your system esp if lyme makes it chronic?
like can hyperbarics help?
thanks
Lynne

I saw an allergist who specializes in molds & had RAST tests. I'm exploring various treatments for my high levels. Seems to me like Mold, Metals, parasites etc can be a component of chronic Lyme.

It can't be healthy to be fighting an immunosuppresive illness along with toxic mold & metals which are also immunosuppresants.

I have the same problem, i have terrible problems with mold in addition to LYME. I think the mold came before the LYME. But who knows.

With mold, the best thing is avoidance and watch your diet closely. Maybe you can ask the doctor to try Diflucan and antifungal. Or there are several natural products out there. Very hard to eradicate, it seems to all work together.

I have tried many things, very little success. But every one's body is different. I think diet and if you can find a good dry sauna, not a steam room. Best of luck, wish I had more suggestions.

I'd be happy to send someone my copy of Mold Warriors, just pass it on to someone else if you can when you've slogged through the thing.

warning- it's a pretty unreadable book.

Basically the guy says to take cholestyramine to help cut down on the toxin load in your body that's generated by toxic mold. Cholestyramine is a prescription drug. He's got a website which lists some doctors who are willing to prescribe and test the way he suggests, http://www.chronicneurotoxins.com/

I take Welchol, a drug similar to cholestyramine. Do a search at this forum to see how people have reacted to these two drugs- mixed reviews. It works for me in reducing brainfog but I dont seem to have any mold issues, just Lyme-related ones.
