I find it hard to believe Igenex is the only Lab that we can get a positive result from if we are infact positive for a current lyme infection.

My doc has done 2 Elisas both negative and i would like to go out of pocket yet again to get a lyme test from a 3rd lab. Im igenex positive both past and current.

Anyone get a 2nd test elsewhere that confirmed your positive igenex? Input would be great. Thanks all!

Get a CD57. If you have symptoms and are IgeneX and CDC positive, I'd personally stop looking and start treating. Coinfection testing is also critical.

Thx scott.
My cd57 is 80 (low end but normal), i tested negative for all coinfections which i was suprised. I am igenex positive not cdc.
i have 20+ symptoms but not sure if its truly lyme. Im very sensitive to meds so my trial w/ antibiotics so far has been hard. I had to stop.
Im scared to do i.v. but i will if i really have lyme.
Just wish i could confirm in some way.
Thank you.

my first pill i had shortness of breath , heavy chest and tightness along w/ itching. I think 20 min after the first pill is not a herx.

Panic,

What you describe sounds like an allergy, not sensitivity. I would make sure you have an EpiPen if you go on any other antibiotics.

Allergies to antibiotics can quickly lead to swelling of the airways. An EpiPen can be a life saver in that situation.

You would also talk to a doctor about testing for allergies to different antibiotics. Most people are only allergic to certain classes of abx.
