I have Lyme and Babesia. I have been on IV Rocephin for almost 5 months.

My LLMD wants me to start artemisia soon. Has anyone had experience using the tinctures? I would like a couple of brand recommendations...organic products please.

I see how important the Red Root is - any brands for that?

Much thanks and peace.

Hi, most people use the Allergy Research brand for Artemisinin. and I like Dragon River Herbals for the Red Root tincture, but there are many options:

Artemesia is the whole herb, but many find Artemisinin to be more effective for babesia, although harder to tolerate.

you may want to try a search on here as there are many past discussions on using these herbs.

and I highly recommend reading the book Healing Lyme by Stephen Buhner.

Hi,

I also used Artemisinin from Allergy Research Group.

I have also used 1st Chinese Herbs, there products are reasonably priced and clean. They don't have prepared tinctures, so you would have to make your own. I have bee taking powered and cut herbs in tea form.

Go to the thread about "links to herbal threads " ( by Maria I think ) and find the link to Buhner's site and the question about babesia and artimisinin .

I believe he suggests an herb called cryptolepis .

From what I have read , it is best to start the artimisinin ( or whole herb artimesia) at a low dose til you see how you can tolerate the die off .

I also read that taking it with fish oil potentiates the artimisinin.

I would start it slow, then increase the dosage TO TOLERANCE .

Also , there are others here who relapsed with babs and later finally got much better after trying rife .

Good luck!

IF you are taking Artemisia in whole herb form, make SURE it is the Artemisia annua.

I make my own Red Root tincture. I don't think brand makes all that much difference. Just get it from a reputable sourse.

Before I started making my own, I used a brand called Herb Pharm from MyVitaNet.
