Do antibiotics suppress the immune system ? I have not started any ABX (only Buhner core gerbs) and am afraid of the side effects or the possibility of my natural immune system being suppressed.

With ABX can I avoid candida and yeast with proper precautions or is it inevitable with ABX treatment ?

There are LOADS of posts about that.

Basically take many good probiotics, do a strict diet control (low carb, high protein, no sugar). But even with that, anyone risks candida with long term abx.

For immune system suppression, you can do a search in Medical here. I remember having read threads about that.

Lyme suppresses the immune system. There are things you can do while taking abx to strengthen the immune system.

But if you don't get rid of the Lyme, your body is in awful shape anyway.

My immune system was suppressed from the Lyme.

While on ABX, I treat for yeast too. I had a lot in my body before my Lyme diagnosis. I take nystatin right now and have diflucan, if needed. I also use Sacro-B.

A clean, healthy diet is important too. Lots of water helps.
