My daughter Lisa was seen by Dr. J in CT yesterday. He is a very nice doc. My daughter had been taken a nap on his lap for about 45 minutes.
Lisa has been sick since last May. She has/had headache, ear/lung infections, wakeing-up at night, joint pains, mascle pains, clearing throat, coughtings, etc.
My husband's WB from Quest was positive. My husband's PCP only gave him 14 days Doxy 100mg twice a day and didn't give us a chance to meet her. I also have almost all the symptons. I was mad and will switch to another doc.
I got tons of helpful infos from this forum and helps from mbroderick and Lymetoo. I appreciate your help and are happy to join this family.
Sincerely,
Shara

i would trust doctor jones treatment 150%. he has brought both my kids back to health - my daughter much faster than my son, but my son had a very complicated case with allot of severe brain effects.
if your child has been ill since last may, 6-9 months sounds like a fair idea of how long it may take to treat to lyme/tbd's to efficacy.
once you start, you keep in touch with the office and lab results, and based on how things go exactly, he may well change the combinations of meds along the way. (keep notes on responses, changes in symptoms, and call the office if you have concerns or questions based on responses, the staff will consult with doctor jones, or even have you talk with him if necessary)
i did in our case, however, research and support both kids with nutritional support, minerals, and probiotics.
they were not reccommended specifically by doctor jones, however i let him know and he approved. it helps immensely to support their bodies while on the meds, in my opinion.
best to you, you certainly have your hands full.

I am skittish about having patients describe their treatment protocols specifically on a public forum like this, especially if it is obvious which doc is involved, as your post does. As you know, the state medical board is trying to get rid of the most experienced lyme pediatrician in the country (world), and trolls read this forum for ammunition, so please be careful of what you say. The most harmless thing can be used against docs and their patients. Otherwise, you may find yourself and your children without a doc who will treat them.
I would suggest that you edit your post to remove the treatment details. If you want to discuss them, contact individuals privately or talk to a support group about them.
If people have been sick for a long time with tickborne diseases, they will need longterm treatment.

Thanks shara. We all wish your family the best. You were just unfortunate to get tickborne diseases at a time when they are being poorly handled by many doctors. Maybe one of these days none of us will have trouble getting treated and will be able to say anything we want, like people with other diseases can do!
