It's been a while since I've posted even though I continue to visit often.

The last few days my CFS has returned with a vengence. Granted I'm under lots of stress with divorcing my husband of 19 years.

Any suggestions?

Provigil (script)
Long naps

Watch out for resentment- I recently heard someone say (maybe it was on Oprah) Resentments are like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

Maybe get tested for food and chemical allergies.
Reducing sugars, wheat, red meat, dairy foods and avoiding cheese, mushrooms, all perfumed products and alcohol helped me. I only eat
fresh foods and bottled spring water. I also take a good multivitamin and mineral supplement and powdered vitamin C.

Hope you feel better soon.

You have Lyme right?
I would shy away from saying you have CFS, if you have Lyme, because CFS is only a symptom. Anyway, have you tried methylcobalamin B12 injections daily?
What do you take for your fatigue?

Wild,

Yes I have lyme. I mentioned chronic fatigue because that's what I'me xperiencing. Of course we all know lyme produces many different symptoms. Lyme is likely the problem here.

Hi!

Check out yeast overgrowth problems!

Vitamins like B-12. I can pm you a full list of things that can help with fatigue.

How's your sleep? Melatonin is a natural supplement that may help.

Sorry you are having such a hard time on top of being sick!

Good Luck!

Many years ago, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and had overwhelming exhaustion for years. It was probably a first bout of Lyme, although my symptoms were very different than what I now experience from the tick bite in 2003.

Anyway, back in my CFS days, my adrenals kept "crashing" so to speak, according to the various holistic M.D.s I saw.

The one thing that would give me a boost was Isocort, an adrenal supplement.

I have no idea if that's related to a steroid, because Lyme wasn't in my vocabulary back then. So I hesitate to recommend it without knowing.

However, there is another thread going on adrenal insufficiency, and I have the books listed on that thread and they are helpful.

Good luck!
Jill

Still searching myself but here's a few things that have helped me along the way:

Eleuthero-Ginseng
whey protein powder
a combo of A-Acetyl-Carnitine & selenium
NADH 5 mg
coconut milk & sugar free pure cocoa powder-combined
source of life mini tabs
acid free vit c powder

hope you can find more energy soon
Blessings [Smile]

Glutathione has helped reduce my fatigue. B-12 is also another supplement that can be helpful.
Good luck and feel better.

Here's another one that came to light in the last few days-

Yeast!

Been taken sporanox for a few days & have way more energy [Smile]

Not a cure for lyme but may contribute. After 3 years of TX for lyme & co-infections
this may turn out to what has held me back in lingering energy & other neuro symptoms as well.

Hope you can have some more energy [group hug]
Dana

Green powder mixed in juice or water. I like Natural Factors Enriching Greens, but there are lots of other good ones too, for an afternoon boost.

snowboarder,

i have no advise even though i've had fatigue really bad these l8 months, but here's my advise since you're going thru a divorce ok:

LAUGHTER, play some videos, dvds, etc. that really make you BELLY LAUGH; play them over and over to release all those GOOD TOXINS in your body!

best wishes on all you are going thru; come for support any time; we're here for you always! UNCONDITIONAL LOVE; no strings attached! [group hug] [kiss]

Just recently, B-12 shots have helped. I only do 1 cc a week but it seems to do something. Could you have any malapsorption issues like gluten intolerance (celiac's) or leaky gut??? Lmye can trigger this. I notice that when I dine on carbs, esp. pasta, I get WORN OUT. I can sleep a weekend and not wake up.

Also, I've been getting my thyroid checked regularly as a way to monitor fatigue. I discovered that I'm HYPO and have Hashimoto's syndrome. I think this played a huge part in my fatigue. Now I take Armour Thyroid.

I try not to feel guilty about sleeping obscene amounts, and led others' comments about my "laziness" slide off. I don't know what you're abx combo involves, but you're body is engaged in a serious battle--- it needs time to renew, refresh, etc.

I was diagnosed with CFS at Stanford Medical Center. The doctor there determined I have high viral titers and put me on Valcyte, an anti-viral drug.

I'm feeling much better.

Go to www.hhv-6foundation.org. If you haven't been tested for viruses, get tested.

There are some links here on lymenet about viral testing.

Also info at the patient's forum at the HHV-6 website.

Best,
Timaca

Just a pet peeve of mine, as a 15-year CFIDS sufferer before Lyme. I'm bedridden by CFIDS, and hate when people confuse "chronic fatigue" (a symptom) and "chronic fatigue syndrome" (a clinical diagnosis).

I know many here were diagnosed with CFIDS/CFS but please don't confuse it with the symptom of chronic fatigue. You wouldn't want everyone running around saying they have Lyme disease too because they are tired and can't find their keys!

With that said, I personally haven't found much of use in 15 years, though the things that have helped me a little bit are: nebulized glutathione, HIGH dose daily b-12 injections, a yeast-free diet, staying within my energy envelope, reducing chemical exposures, using infrared sauna heaters to sweat out toxins, and Nexavir (an antiviral). I second the idea that you should get tested for viruses.

Some great suggestions here from everyone.

I have found malic acid and per Dr. B. cordyceps to both be helpful.
