It has been suggested that I take 1 teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda in a large glass of water every day to make my system more alkaline. Has anyone heard of this? Do the spirochetes like an acid or alkaline environment?
Any thoughts?

I take 1 tsp of bicarb twice a day. I find it really helps with calming herxes, detoxing, and alkalinizing. Also there are some therapies that I am doing that release old Lyme gunk which actually feels like battery acid, so it also helps calm that as well.
I can't stand the taste though, so I put the teaspoon of bicarb in a very small amount of water, stir it up really fast, and then slug it back and have a glass of plain water ready for a chaser.

When I take baking soda in water it reduces my alkalinity and keeps me from getting constant cold sores, one of Bb's best friends. Don't know if there is additional application to ph.

Lemon in water is very alkalinizing, too. I put a half lemon in a very large cup of water (almost a quart). My LLMD recommended it during a herx.
