Good morning once again,
I promise to stop being such a nuisance very soon... I am just asking for one more favor, please!
I have an Unemployment Insurance Denial hearing tomorrow afternoon, and I am needing to put my hands on some sort of article or abstract that speaks to our cognitive issues with losing track of time and dates.
This can not be something that explores in depth ALL of our other cognitive issues (I do not want to appear completely incompetent or as someone who cannot work satisfactorally in a job setting)...and this also needs to be readily understood by the layperson who has no experience with TBDs.
The reason I need this, is because I was late in appealing the denial decision by 5 days, simply because I was not aware of the dates when it occurred.
So, now, I not only need to prove ``Just Cause'' for my resignation from my former position of employment, of which I am confident that I have a ton of evidence...
BUT, I also need to show ``Good Cause'' for being late with my Appeal Form.
One of the reasons I listed on the Appeal form as ``Good Cause'' was- ``Chronic Illnesses cause cognitive dysfunction as to date and time and sequencing abilities. This is a condition that waxes and wanes and can be verified by my attending physician.''
The only problem now, is that my LLMD, while perfectly willing to verify this fact, is out of the country right now...so, no physician verification can be produced by tomorrow.
The only other solution I can come up with at this late date is to attach a short and succinct article or abstract that speaks to this very condition.
If any of you have some free time to lend a hand, it would be very much appreciated!!!!!
Thank you so much in advance, Melanie

Here's a decent definition of executive function, from Columbia {LINK} :
What is executive functioning?
Executive functioning (EF) is not one ability but a set of abilities that include the ability to plan ahead and organize behavior, shift strategies and adapt across time, and monitor ongoing behavior. EF includes ``working memory'', the ability to hold information in mind and perform mental operations on it. EF also includes shifting and sustaining attention, and initiating or inhibiting activity as the situation demands

Thank you so much everyone!
Yes, this does take quite a bit of financial stress away for right now...all told, it is 6 months of back-pay.
Though, it will help SO much, it is only about a third of what I was earning, and I have already reached my cut-off time limit...so, this is it for me for UI benefits.
I do wish I could now sit back and rest and recoup for awhile, but am actively seeking employment. The bills are just too heavy to rest.
Actually, I have another interview today- so wish me luck!
And, yes, I will take this dance, Moonbeam...but only if you promise to wear that fruit covered hat which I haven't seen in a very long time!
Much love, M
