Prayer IS very powerful.
But,
God, You, and a doctor working together is key.
In that order.
Years ago, there was a website called Cassia.org.
The gentleman had lyme, used antibiotics and then changed his "lifestyle".
I love his viewpoint on dealing with a horrible disease, lyme:

1. I was the most spiritual I have ever been when I was dying from this disease. I do not take pain pills and I was in agony 24/7 for years.

The healing doesn't always come right away. Keep praying for the answer. I found my answer 3 yrs ago. I had attended a healing service [large with hundreds of people] and felt the power of God surge through me.
Six months later, my answer arrived and I've been off abx now for 2 1/2 yrs.

My 2 cents: We are all spiritual beings. To be completely whole, your whole being must be healed. When you are stuck spiritually, you will stay stuck until you address the spiritual 'stuckness.' When you are stuck emotionally, then you need help with that. If your body isn't getting what it needs to heal itself, then you need the wisdom to know what to give it so it can recover.
My experience: As I've plunged into this crash course in intractable illness there have been many aspects where I discovered I had gotten stuck and didn't even know it. Choosing to remain teachable means that I have received much from many along the way. Finding healing for the wounds in my spirit has been essential. Same for the wounds in my soul. My body heals faster when those other areas are healed. I believe that when I have asked for wisdom, understanding and relief, answers have been provided.

We have to know how to pray and/or how to completely give ourselves to the Lord before we can expect Him to carry us to a higher place.. physically and spiritually. This ultimately means commiting all of our time and all of our being to Him... if we truly do this, there would be no doubt of him in our hearts, therefore there would be no consideration of giving up on His rightious intention for our outcomes. It is wrong to "test" our Lord by degrading him to time limits and personal goals of the flesh. We must not be selfish. It may take a long time for such a significant transformation of the soul to take place, and to bring us to the point where we can experiance the meraculous healing power which would be offered to us only according to God's will, and not ours.
God can do it, and He will.. as He wills. Our job is to get over ourselves as individuals, and live each and every day celebrating and serving Him. Only then will we be able to experience his blessings.

Miracles are not for our convenience, but for our faith. I am convinced that He is also more concerned with our character than comfort.
Healing can be on many levels, and we are not guaranteed immediate results.
From my observance, I am watching my daughter's faith in waiting for this process to come to completion. She is wanting to learn what God has to teach her during this process, so she can use this experience.
In a sense, that is spiritual healing. There is nothing keeping God from making the bacteria disappear. But, because He is choosing not to do that, we will rest and believe that He IS.

I am aware of the Brazilian spiritual healing via a series of conversations with someone who did travel there and try it. She left with high hopes and spent considerable money to go there.
While there she was introduced to spirit entities that they told her were spirits of deceased healers. Somehow they led her into some spiritual experiences that at the time seemed quite meaningful to her. And initially she experienced some good feelings and hope for recovery after her trip.
However, the actual result has not been any significant change in her health and/or circumstances. In fact some things happened to her health afterward that were quite unfortunate.
A cost/benefits analysis doesn't really add up in my estimation. (And, in my personal world view, healers that charge outrageous fees aren't showing good fruit to start with.)
