I'm a bit confused about ph levels when it comes to detox.
I understand that lemon is good for detoxing. Does anybody know why?
I also understand that detoxing can make the body to acid, and taking baking soda is a good idea. So why take lemon?
Personally, if I have a good herx I get some serious acid afterburn the next day, if I don't take some baking soda.
So if I take lemon am I making myself too acid? Or should I counterbalance with a bicarb or extra calcium if I take lemon.
Will counterbalancing the acidity of the lemon affect it's effectiveness?
Any ideas or experience with this?

I had the same questions at first. Funny thing is that lemon is a base not an acid. So that is why lemon is good.

Lemon is alkalinizing to the body even though if you test it alone it is an acid. Same with raw apple cider vinegar. They both alkalinize the body.
