hi panic

I never had the low red blood count-although I tested positive for babs. Never got the bad sweats either. Not everyone with babs gets the low red blood counts.

Like everything else with this disease it seems to hit people differently.

hope this helps
Blessings [Smile]

I think it depends on the parasite load. the parasite kills the RBC's then they get removed by the spleen. If your body cant prodce enough to keep up you get a low count.

My red counts were also good, but durring an acute attack relapse of babs my liver enzymes went haywire. It also made liver congested very fast and I had some pain in my liver.

I treated my acute relapse with a couple of herbal anti-protozoas including 600mg of art a day. My homepathic walked me through this. I had 6 days of what was like a full blown malaria attack. Wihtin these 6 days my LLMD had another liver test done, all back to normal, They were 50 points up.

Within 2 weeks the worse part was over. Thank god I knew what to expect. If it were not for the experience of treating babs in the past I don't think I would have been able to stick to the protocal. It worked, just doing maintance to elimiate the lingering minor symptoms.

My neighbors red cell count and platlet count was very low. For months.

LLMD believes it to be erlichia (sp?).

I believe this can be a symptom of babs, or erlichia.

However, my red blood cell count/platlets were really never low and I am being treated for babs based on symptoms.

I am glad my LLMD dx based on symptoms as I believe everybody's system is different.
