I've been almost symptom free for quite some time. A few weeks ago I started getting numbing/tingling, chills, extreme fatigue and a horrible headache.

I'm assuming I'm relapsing. In the past I remember reading that people relapse when co infections are not dealt with.

I can't seem to tolerate abx any longer. What are my options? I'm considering Klinghardts device or possibly Buhners protocol.

Unfortuantely I don't have an alternative doc either? Are the above protocls safe to do without being under direct supervision of a doc?

I've heard of several people who have used Dr. K's protocol with good success.

Since you cannot tolerate abx any longer, I don't know what other options you have. I am sorry you've had a relapse.

What about Salt/C protocol?

Stay on top of it, and don't let time slip by. The sooner you get back on treatment the better!
It is good news that you were symptom free for a while though, very encouraging! Let your LLMD know what's going on. There are new protocols you might be able to get on [Smile]

If you're getting chills and tingling and it took quite a while to relapse then a very good guess is that the co-infection is Babesia.

With Babesia treatment there is no herx per se, assuming the lyme is gone, but there is a time period of getting used to the drugs. There is also a slough-off of damaged red blood cells which can increase heart palpitations for a week or 2. But nothing as severe all around as a full on lyme herx.

Generally speaking, after the first week or 2 of babesia therapy people start to just feel better.

Mepron isn't that hard to tolerate for most people. Artemisinin might be till the slough-off is through. After that it's not bad.

If you've had lyme treatment and herxed on it then you've a;ready gone through the worst.

If you can no longer tolerate any medication, but could in the past... Why is that? Have you dealt with yeast issues? or do you have a liver problem?

I think I have babesia (night sweats, chills, insomnia)...The thing is when I was on cipro for my sinusitis, those symptoms were gone and now that I stopped cipro for only two days, I began to have night sweats and light sleep yesterday evening!

I did have bad headache for a couple of days before I started doxy.

So my question is: could I have bart? or cipro may help babesia as well?

It's so bad that I can't get cipro now...

Sorry to hear this tickalert! Were you ever treated for babesia??

I would go to Rife and herbs if you think the rife isn't enough.

justag....Make a separate thread so your question will get the attention it deserves.

Hi tickalert,

I am also so sorry to hear about your recent relapse. Good advice from wild condor & lymtoo. Keep on top of it & think about babs treatment in what ever treatment you can handle.

My stomach gave out completely about 10 months & haven't been able to stomach the meds...am allergic to the injectable & IV is not an option right now.

So I bought a rife machine aprox 7 monts ago & have been using it with some limited herbs & many supps.

So far so good. I did take a slight dive from a recent trip to CA. I upped my rife to 2 times a week & have been taking an anti-yeast meds. I am starting to pull out of my dive and really impressed with my rife machine.

I was a huge skeptic in rife before I got my machine & didn't expect much. But over time it seems to be holding me. Only time will tell.

I hope you can find a way to feel better soon. [group hug]
Hugs & healing
Dana

What herbs are available for Babesia? I'm definitely ordering a rife machine.

I just bumped an old rife post for you .
You might want to PM Ernie ( EFSD25 ) about his success with rife after relapsing from BABS treatment .

bump for those questioning rife therapy . there have been many here who have felt emphatically that it is effective. NOW THAT IS POWERFUL ,because improvement with lyme is NOT something you can just " imagine " . The disease is too severe to imagine improvement .

Read efds25 posts on General support . Ernie could not continue ABX , then he began rife after relapsing with babs. Now he climbs mountains.

I find Buhner's herbs good. I mix it with some of dr. K's alternative herbs. I also have a KMT, and run it sometimes.

It could be only lyme. I had chills only with lyme, fatigue, etc. My babesia never showed again once I dealt with it. I only relapse from borrelia.

Look into thyroid problems for chills.

Relapse is like a re-infection, the infection is very agressive when it wakes up, I find. So it needs agressive treatment. Even if in my case, it means, lots of herbs and rest only.

Rife seems a good alternative, only that herxes are strong with it (and I'm too sensitive).

Good luck!

Hey tick --

My next door neighbor is a Chinese herb doctor-

He is Swamped Buzzy so I dont get to talk to him
much but he is going to talk to me Wednesday-

I will get back to you with the info I get
from him --

One thing you can get easy today is Tonic Water
it has Quinine in it - For Babs --

Since Quinine is getting Very expensive now the cheap Tonic Water dose not much quinine in it anymore - almost zero -

I just bought some Schweppes brand Tonic Water
and it has Alot of quinine in it-
so get that brand or maybe Coke brand -

It Really dose help for Babs -Drink at least 2 liters- get the diet kind --

Buy at Grocery store by the beer and mixers
or at the liquor store -

It will make you herx if you have Babs-

Tastes like Ditch water but it works -

from the symptoms you mentioned it sounds like Babs to me --Jay--

When I start relapsing I start drinking quinine soda and Xango mangosteen juice and it does the trick. It is alot easier on the system than antibiotics.
