Hi. I am on IV rocephin and doxy for the last month and was starting to feel a bit better when I added diflucan for yeast. On the 3rd day of taking 200mg (take it daily)I began to feel like I was starting the flu (achy, jt pain, fatigue, nausea), then I started vomiting. Now I still have the burning feeling in my esophagus and throat like I am on fire. This is the symptom I was taking the diflucan for in the first place(thinking it may be yeast since the antacids werent working). Could this be a herx from diflucan? Help please! -Nikki

Could be. Why not ask your dr if you can cut back the dosage? Or just suffer thru it...??

Watch your diet also. That should help.

Hope this subsides soon! [Smile]

Here are some side effects you could have from Diflucan:

headache
dizziness
diarrhea
stomach pain
heartburn
change in ability to taste food

I have real bad GERD. It damaged my vocal cords. I was put on Protonix 2x day. It was the only thing that helped with the burning and gave me my voice back.

Maybe you could try that if you need to take the Diflucan, but it is causing acids or something to bother your throat.

( also, I was taking long courses of diflucan and nystatin while on the protonix and did not have the burning )

I have taken diflucan many times in my life without any issue. However, after lyme arthritis struck, I took 100mg diflucan (10 day dose) On day 3, my joints felt like you had put electrodes in them and turned on the juice. Cutting back to 50 mg worked fine.
