I am assuming my mouth feels the way it does due to taking antibiotics since Feb. 2003.

But, this is the first time it has felt this way.

It needs healing.

Any ideas on what to do to help it. This has been going on for 4 weeks estimate. It was worse in the beginning.

Do a search on oil pulling. This is an easy way to improve/detox the overall health of gums and teeth.

kam,

I got thrush from the antibiotics. I take some anti-fungal lozenges now and then when it starts to creep back in, especially in the middle of the night, when it tends to be worse.

I have a morning routine that helps. Brush teeth. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide for a minute or two.
Then the following...

Suck a teaspoon of sesame oil through my teeth and gargling with it for 10-20 minutes (while I make breakfast, check email, whatever) and then spitting it out in the toilet.

This is the "oil-pulling" that has been referred to.

I know it sounds quacky and impossible, but I swear by it. Somehow the oil draws the bacteria and toxins into it. In my mouth it turns from clear yellow to opaque white. Sometimes the oil completely changes to watery, other times it stays oily. Afterwards my teeth feel like I've had a hygenist cleaning them.

Of course you should see a dentist to get a good check of your mouth, but in the meantime you might consider trying this.

Karen

I don't know, my teeth hurt too.

I went to the Dentist yesterday, and told him my teeth had spaces between them which weren't there before. He didn't believe me, until he saw the X-rays. Then he said that it was because of my retainers. Which I have been wearing for 5 years and are used to retain not move.

I really can't stand "experts".

I think the Mepron is making them worse.

Dave,

Thanks for contacting Fed Ex. Especially since I read a post about the pain you are in.

If at all possible, I will be at your tennis match for lyme awareness. [Smile]

I am not a tennis player but will participate in whatever other way I can.

Change of subject....

At first it felt like it does when you burn the tip of your tongue on some hot coffee or hot chocolate....

Only it was the whole tongue and roof of mouth, etc.

The tongue is split along the edge and down the middle too.

The burned feeling is less and more tolerable.

I told my LLMD that I stopped the sulfur drug because I thought that was causing the problem.

But, when things lessened..I tried the sulfur drug again and I am OK.

I also had dripping..constant down my throat...sore throat...running nose...all of which have gone away but took awhile.

The mouth thing is still there but lessen. There enough that food does not taste like much and the mouth is always feeling wierd.

Teeth are not smooth. Feels like enamel isn't what it use to be.

My latest thought is to get back to drinking more water. I have really been poor at that lately.

Only a couple of bottles of Dasani a day and a couple of cups of detox tea and P/arco tea or some other herb tea.

I got a tea that is to help a sore mouth...can't recall what it is. I think it is time to try it.

Hi kam

lately I can not use any toothpaste with whitners in it.

Switched back to plain Crest & the iratations in my mouth went away. Been off abx for 8 months now due to stomach problems.

Crazy part is I had been using the toothpaste with peroide & whitners stuff for years with no problems but all of a sudden I can't anymore.

hope your mouth problems get better soon
[group hug]

I will up my cups of p arco tea. My LLMD suggested it when the insurance denied the diflucan.

I should hear from CALPERS by the middle of next month. I was told the claim is in review. I am praying it will be approved while in review.

I do hope that they look at the symptoms of the other teachers that were approved and see that they are the same and there must be a connection even though we have different dx.

Wish the other teachers would see a lyme doc too but they are OK with their dx of CFS/fibro.

I am wondering how the motherboard and the power source could have been affected by shipping.

The box the CPU was shipped in was split open on one side when it got here. The box also was pretty banged up.

Ann connected the 10 year old computer for me a couple of days ago. We struggled to get to the hardware store to get the power surge strip.

She drove but was too tired to come in. I went in but was too tired to walk to the back of the store so I sat on a chair by the cashier and the store helper went back and brought me a power surge protector.

This morning, I noticed that Ann had not plugged in the CPU to the power surge protector but had plugged it in the outlet in the wall.

Good thing we did not have any thunder and lightening storms before I noticed it. [Smile]

Ann has lyme brain...HA! Just like all of us. It is an epidemic.

I like the sesame oil thing too. I don't know when I will be able to get to the health food store to get some. But, it is worth a try.

I don't think I have that white fuzzy stuff on my tongue. But, I will check again.I know that is a sign of yeast.

My mind is really having trouble staying focused this am. Hope this is not as difficult to read as it appears to me in my head.

Time to veg out , take my meds and regroup.

Good to be back on line. Just need practice with keeping it in between the lines.HA
