Just wondering if anyone has experienced swollen fingers or hands? Even after losing 30 lbs because of nausea and the inability to eat regular meals, my fingers are still swelled. This was one of my beginning symptoms and has been ongoing throughout treatment. Am I all alone or can someone join me?

Well, yeah. I had this symptom. So bad my hands were useless.

I eventually was diagnosed with Rheum. Arthritis. However, changing to a vegan diet improved my swelling 50%. I found a doctor trained in nutrition and healing a leaky gut and under his care I now have virtually no swelling.

I had swollen hands and fingers for a long time. It wasn't until IV doxy that the swelling went down.

One of my first symptoms was swollen fingers and like yours its lasted the whole time I've had Lyme and all during the 2 1/2 yrs of treatment. They let up at times but always come back. I've pretty much have gotten used to it and really only notice when they swell particularily bad. It has never interfered with the use of my hands like luvs2ride mentions above.

Good to know I'm not alone! I never have any pain in my fingers or hands, but wow, some days the swelling is crazy! I haven't been able to wear rings in a long time because they don't fit on my fat fingers anymore.

My symptoms seemed to come on gradually, beginning with swollen fingers, some facial numbness, noise and smell sensitivities, then BAM! It hit me like a ton of bricks and I haven't been the same since.

You guys are very lucky you have no pain with this. Hopefully, no arthritic involvement.

All the same, ongoing inflamation is a serious condition in itself. Have you tried an anti-inflamatory diet? It can make a really big difference.

I had terribly painful swollen fingers, just like CLAWS. Could not grasp with them anymore, could not close my hand nor open my hand anymore. They were stiffer and stiffer and swollenesque to the extreme- and bright red- and hurt so bad but didn't feel at all where they didn't hurt- numb and painful- horrible hands-

I swore if I ever got them back I would learn to crochet- and since then I have crocheted hundreds of hats- hundreds-!!!!

fingers been better since IV Rocephin BUT THEN MEPROn took away the rest- and Artemisia- !!!!
The pain in my hands was about 1/3rd babesiosis
which i didn't know until I went on mepron & Art and the pain went away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOW my hands are NORMAL and have been for 6+ years BUT if I go off abx they get swollen very quickly- within a few days- so I know one of my ongoing chornic things is inflammation to the extreme-

But whenever I feel sorry for myself I just look at my hand and open and close it quickly- and then i will be grateful again because even that simple action Icould not do-

they were thick, red, swollen like claws-

Drink more clean water and add Trace Minerals Relax or another liquid trace mineral product into your daily water supply. That way you won't forget.

Get some kidney support. The kidneys are under great stress when on meds and detoxing. I used to support myself with Renelix and still do.
The liver will regenerate itself - the kidney won't. So help it when you have got to get rid of all the toxins. Don't ever think you are not detoxing metals when you are killing microbes - and the kidney stops filtering when the onslaught becomes too heavy. You need to help it.

That's what I learned and that's what worked.

Take care.

My first symptom after being bitten was
painful swollen hand/fingers. This subsided after 3 weeks, but then other symptoms started
- pain and swelling in knees, feet and elbows.I had no help initially so went to a homeopath and was given mineral supplements, artemesia, burdock, this helped a lot until I finally got a proper diagnosis and I'm now on Doxycyline which has helped tremendously with the swellings and I've lost 1/2 stone - which my dr thinks was fluid retention.
Also taking different homeopathic drops now, multivits, probiotics, omegas - no sugar/alcohol, low carbs.
