Hi! I haven't been on for a while,so I was wondering if there have been any amazing breakthroughs.
I have been doing fairly well for about 6 months but fear I am starting to relapse due to my father being very unwell and causing me a lot of stress. He had a stroke about 2 years ago and has been slowly going down hill.
If there are any amazing things that have happened in the last 12 months would appreciate knowing.
Have been off all treatment since November. This is the longest I have lasted without relapse.
Thanks,Sue.

I do think that herbs, supplements and electrical devices hold great promise. I am of the opinion that the best option is a mix of these options with conventional antibiotic therapy when necessary. It is likely the case that many people that speak negatively of such options have not used them.

Be careful with Ketek. Read the warnings. It has caused liver damage and even death.

I had great results from some herbal treatmenmts I tried. There were a few that were totally inconclusive, too. Usually if something has a reputation for working, there's a reason, though.
I didn't try it, but I heard good things about "rife". Not knowing anything about, though, I can't endorse it. If I get lyme again, though, I will definitely look into it!
My feeling is, with lyme you need a multi-faceted approach. If your in the "acute stage", having recently been bitten, you need to "blow it out of the water" fast! And completely! Every time you relapse, I'd say it's at least three times as hard to get rid of.
The co-infections can make a huge difference, too.

Not sure if this is very "new"....but it has worked wonders for me...Tindamax!
After taking this for awhile in combination with other abx, I have had some fairly long remissions before sliding back downhill. Duration of remission seems to be between 8 and 9 months.
Tindamax seems to work at breaking into cyst forms of Bb.
Good luck, Sue!

There's the Schardt Protocol (which is probably one of the treatments Lyme ED was referring to).
Stymie Lymie posted recently about a drug called "Vfend" (I think) which he believe put him into remission. Might be worth checking out (you'll have to do a search for "vfend" since I cannot remember which thread it was where he talked about the Vfend).
Other than the growing interest in alternative treatments as Cave mentioned, those are the only two medical treatments that come to mind that may be "new" to you.
