I just got a sauna not too long ago as well. I will tell you that the sauna is great at detoxifying after the HBOT ( that's my thing)
However I recommend caution. You must be sure to hydrate yourself and replace electrolytes... You can get some vitamins water, dring lots of water and vitamin suppliments, or drink V8...
You can also do all of them.
Dehydration can also cause you to have brain fog and weakness..
Blessings,
Julia

Be sure you shower in plain water (no soap) after getting out of the sauna to wash off all the toxins that were excreted and are still on your skin. If you don't the'll just be reabsorbed and you'll feel worse.

Another thought...depending on how long you were in the sauna, how hot you got, and how high your bacteria load is, you might have killed some Bb, because they are sensitive to heat. So there's some possibility that you're herxing.
If that's the case, you have to be careful not to over do it, because I did that myself, and later had a severe herx that made me feel like I'd be a cripple for the rest of my life.

Lyme bacteria die at 106 degrees F. But they have a very hard tme surviving over 100. Sometimes when I take a hot epsom salt bath, I stick a thermometer in my mouth towards the nd and it will read usually a little over 100-101 degrees... So maybe I am killing a small sample of bacteria while trying to detox.... I do notice I feel worse after an epsom salt bath about 80% of the time!

Thanks for the input. I stayed in the sauna about 45 minutes. My body temp was around 101 when I got out. Then I took a shower. Next time I'll avoid soap.
I'm starting to feel better. I took extra minerals. I wonder if it could have been a herx.
Thanks for helping me.
