I just started a Yeast diet yesterday (I lost 3/4 of what I normally eat!), it says I can eat dairy, but no sugar. It also says I can use Splenda. So, can I eat ice cream sweetened with Spenda? Also, what about popcorn, not micro...the old fashion way (poped in olive oil w/ salt)? I am supposed to be on a HIGH salt diet. [Smile]

Any other goodies out there so I don't feel so deprived? I'm 'mourning' for the loss of chocolate and scones. [Frown]

Most people have to avoid sugars and starches.

Icecream made out of real cream and with Splenda migh be OK for some.

When I was on abx I was eating dark chocolate and some other food that were considered risky and nothing wrong happened to me.

Lactose is in ice cream and is considered a sugar for some...

Have you heard of 'Chocagave'??

Comes in 'bold roast' dark chocolate syrup made with agave syrup which is low glycemic index.

Made with fair trade organic cocoa.

I have NO connection t selling this stuff.

Just found it in a health food store and it is SO yummy for the chocolate/sugar deprived!!!

It is thick chocolate syrup and you can put it on anything you put thick chocolate syrup on!

Here is the info on the jar I have:

Popcorn is really not that good for you according to Dr. Weil it takes something out of you body - I foget what but I will try and look it up for you. No popped foods are good for you including rice and popped rice cakes. I am on a Asian healing diet and one food that I am suppose to avoid is popcorn.

Popcorn?

It isn't because most corn is GMO, is it?

I tried to google the info on why popcorn is not healthy for you but did not find it. If I remember correctly popped grains like corn and rice deplete your body of alpha lipoic acid or something. Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

My doctor told me dairy was okay (on the diet paper). I've emailed him reguarding the Splenda ice cream and popcorn. I'll let you know what he says.

I used to try (before Lyme) to eat all organic and no Hydrogenated/partially hydro oils. It got way too expensive and drove my family nuts. I still think it is a good idea to eat as healthfully as you can afford to, but I have 3 boys that are eating us out of house and home. I started finding all kinds of junk food wrapers under their beds, so I figured I had better not be too strict...otherwise I would drive them to completely rebel. [Roll Eyes]

I eat the tapioca or chocolate pudding made with splenda in the refridgerated area of supermarket.

I also had a kiddie size carvel "no sugar added" softserve cone.

Reeces peanut butter cups are now made sugar free with spenda....yummm

I eat popcorn all the time and thought it was okay...

WEll, one hitch is that Splenda is not any better for you than aspartame.

That aside, where do you find ice cream without any sugar?? Homemade??

Be careful of SUGAR ALCOHOLS found in most sugar-free candy. Your body still considers it to be sugar. I found out the hard way!!!

I don't do well on dairy. You may, but it's doubtful you will avoid yeast that way.
