Anyone have foot pain from babs? I know it can come from bart, but I wonder if it is also a babs sx.

Which kind of foot pain? [Smile]

Foot pain on the soles can come from liver toxicity. Can help to detox and drink more water with lemon.

There were also some recent threads on plantar fasciitis and achiles tendon pain.

My foot pain is in the soles, and occasional pain in the heel.

Can you have liver toxicity without having high liver enzymes?

I don't know. I just know from personal experience that my feet hurt when I take liver detox supplements, and/or don't drink enough water. I've heard this from others as well.

Something I keep learning about lyme and co-infections is that there are a few symptoms that go with specific diseases. Many symptoms are from different systems of the body as they become overstressed from dealing with infection. Hence the name "the great imitator."

Anybody info re: liver enzymes?

Ok, I admit that I have a really tough time differentiating which disease causes which symptom, but here's my experience...

My burning type of foot pain (feet would actually radiate heat at times) dissipated with babs treatment. My guess is that the burning was from babs.

Now I have a lot of sole pain, and it is definitely a different type of pain... Since I'm in bart treatment now, I tend to attribute that to bart.

Then again, I didn't know liver toxicity could cause sole pain, though, or that detoxing might do the same. I've been stepping up the detox - so it could be caused by that and not the bart or the babs...

No real answers here, just sympathy.

Keep fighting it,
Cactus

I watched a video at our support group meeting and it featured Dr. Burascano who specifically identified foot pain as a symptom of babesia.

I am + for babs and YES, the foot pain can be phenomenal. I had it for years; when I got out of bed I couldn't believe how it felt like I was walking on a bed of rocks w/no cushion on the bottom of my feet.

As I've reached my 6th year in treatment and ALOT of remission, this remains a minor irritant. For a few seconds when I take off my shoes I can feel it. Then I forget about it and frequently go barefoot.

It may not be gone, but it's not and issue any more. This disease is slow to turn around but it really does and I wish you well.

I'm certain Dr B's write-ups all say sole pain is bartonella. I'm going to find it and it post an url later.

Yes, foot pain is a symptom of Babesiosis. My son has both.

Dr. J. also told us this.

I am confused on this one! I read foot pain is from Bart and mostly in the morning with sore soles. Mine are sore in the morning but are still sore through the day
and can get worse by the end of the day and much worse after a long walk or riding a stationary bike. The pain is mostly the sole of the foot but can get pain in my ankle
or other parts of the foot. It all started with stabbing pains in the ball of my right foot, then that led to soreness, shocks, electric type sensations, burning,
vibrating, all of this is off and on, but the general sore soles is always there. I thought this was more Lyme or Bart. I am positive on two tests for Babs but I never
see foot problems on a symptom list. I started Mepron and Zithromax, but the doctor said do not expect to notice any difference or feel any better this month.

Mepron/Zith/Ceftin
Doxy/Biaxin/Flagyl pulse.
Artemisinin with Doxy/Biaxin.
Period of Levaquin and Ceftin.
Then Levaquin, Bactrim and Biaxin.
Bactrim/Augmentin/Rifampin.
Mepron/Biaxin/Artemisinin/Cat's Claw
Rifampin/Bactrim/Alinia
Plaquenil/Biaxin

My feet killed me!!!!

Tested positive for babs. Was on zith and mepron and it went away, not 100% but it is so much better.

I thought I would end up in a wheelchair, thats how bad it was before treatment.

What causes it? Does it invade the nerves of the feet? How long till you noticed a difference?

Another reason for foot nerve pain? This is just KILLING me...very confusing???

Is it Lyme, Bart or Babs causing burning feet?

Despite having an Igenex Lyme test with MANY IND/+ bands, the burning feet is the only sx that I cannot tolerate.

Is there really a chance that Babs could be causing this?

From my first LLMD visit, the doc said Lyme or Bart in my case. Lyme tx has NOT helped it, just started Bart tx today.

Really feel like we're chasing an enigma!

I'm going to be diligent with Bart tx since I DO have many other sx's of it.

Time will tell, Take Care Everybody, MBB3
