I am currently on 4 different antibiotics and 10 supplements, and on the edge of losing my job and my wife. But I still can find the motivation to ride my bike sometimes. So I went last Sunday to a local park (on roads, of course) and stepped into the woods literally for 1 min to take a ... Guess what, I discovered a tiny sucker on me today! I found it totally by accident. I saved the tick in one of my nemourous empty medicine vials.

Will the fact that my bloodstream is litreally loaded with chemicals help prevent the reinfection? I felt noticeably dizzy the next day after the bite - would I feel the smptoms so soon? Can IGeneX test the tick to find out for sure if it had the Lyme?

Insane, now I understand how I got infected in the first place w/o knowing it. I used to spend hours in the woods every weekend for years. This is really scary.

If it was something you felt that quickly, it would more likely be a co-infection like Babesia, etc. I would not count on being on treatment preventing a re-infection though....

RE: antibiotics protecting againts a new infection: isn't the reason why Chronic Lyme is so hard to treat that the pathogen hides in connective tissues? In my case, it would've had to go through the bloodstream and experience the nice concentrated antibiotic solution first, wouldn't it?

What if for example, you are not actively treating for Babesia and the new tick bite transferred Babesia to you? I think it is much more complex. It is also possible to have positive PCR tests while on treatment so I am not convinced that being on antibiotics is going to prevent you from getting infected...

I already have Bartonella, so, that's that.

I think Lyme is the most debilitating one, so I will ask igenex to test for it.

Interstngly, I do PCRs at work all the time, and no bloodwork is involved with the tick. I hate bloodwork. So I could isolate the DNA from it and do the testing myself. What do you say? I need a positive control though. Anyone? [Smile]

I saw Dr H today, and he told me that since I am in active Lyme treatment, I should be protected against Lyme reinfection. He has kept the tick and my $60 to have iGeneX test for Babesia (since I don't have Babesia - yet).
