Has anyone tried K-9 plus Atvantage for their pets?

Have been seeing alot of adds saying it repells fleas & ticks better than frontline.

Not smitten with the frontline as the ticks still tend to hitch-hike in on the top of their fur.

Was wondering if the k-9 Atvantage really does repell ticks better than the frontline?

Thanks in advance for any feedback

Dana

Be careful with K9 advantage. My dog got so sick just hours after I put it on him I thought he was going to die. Right now I`m using Sentinel, which is flea + heartworm protection, and during the time the ticks are most active around here I use Frontline too. The other times I just check him out and make sure he does not run into bushes.
Of course it helps that he lives inside and that he is a yellow Lab. My Lyme is the very reason that we got us a light colored dog with short hair. Kathi

My dog could also not handle K-9 plus. The first time I gave it to her before bedtime.

We were up several times in the middle of the night in our pj's in the power chair across the field....

because she had the runs big time.

Wait a minute...my brain is so foggy...i now am not sure if it was k 9 plus.

Has anyone here actually seen the ticks dead when cats/ dogs are on Frontline?

I haven't, that's why I ask... Maybe the formula in Switzerland/ Germany is different?

And Dana, I'm STILL desperately looking for a good tick repelent for my cat, that doesn't make him sick!

Thanks a lot.

Yes, I had to dig a dead one out of his skin once.
It seems it is not a repellant, but kills the ticks. That is why I check him out right away if he went into deeper grass. It is just the safest way to make sure there are no ticks on him.
Also the reason why I only use Frontline when the ticks are most active around here. That stuff can`t be healthy for the dogs or for their owners, especially if the dog is allowed on the sofa, like ours. It rubs off his coat onto the sofa and and our skin. Kathi

recently someone posted notes from a lyme conference at which a panel member recommended Frontline over advantix.

using Frontline for cats, I have found 1 dead dried up tick on my cat. However, I have found several alive kicking, and looking for something to eat, and many more just munching away on the poor cat.

none on the dogs, with the canine version.
