Both my mother and sister are sick with presumably the same thing I have (lyme, babs and bart) and they sleep walk on a regular basis. Sleep disorders seem to go along with lyme. Neither of them have been able to get a regular sleep doctor interested in the sleep walking but they both have other sleep disorders and I do too. I have done the sleep walking thing a few times when I first got sick but I don't do it now as far as I know.
Maybe your son has sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome? My mom has a sleep disorder that causes her oxygen saturation to decline (can't remember the name) while she is asleep and she has to wear an oxygen mask. She has said that she sleep walks less when she takes a sleeping pill. Maybe your son needs a sleep study?
Sorry but I don't know if it's part of any particular co-infection. Hopefully someone will come along with an answer. Terry

I did some reading on the cranial nerve damage and it mentioned sleep distubances along with some other symptoms that he also has.
Not sure about the sleep apnea, but I dont think so because he doesnt show the sighns for that.
Not sure what to do for him when he is having an episode.
Some nights its like he is having a violent dream. Other nights he tries to get up to look for something.
One time this week he sat up and became rigid for over a minute and then just collapsed back on the bed.
I cant keep going through this. It seems to be related from all that Ive read, but until I can get him to the Doc, what can I do to keep him safe? [so I can sleep too]

I walked out of my apartment & into the park at 4am in my underwear in Feb. Thankfully I woke up before something terrible happened. Got locked out of the building
Even my Sleep MD said it was bizarre.
