Have been on Levaquin 500mg for 10 days now. Can't seem to shake this lowgrade fever though. Doc tried injection yesterday and today with Roceph.

Hope it works.

I read several years ago on the web site of some D.C. area medical tv personality, or whatever, that two doses of 2.4 MU of Bicillin LA a week apart would sometimes knock it out.

Prosatitis can be really difficult to shake but you'll get there. I had a colleage who had to take Cipro for six weeks to get rid of it.

Two drugs that responded very quick for me when the infections got into my prostate were omnicef and doxy. Sure, leviquin and cipro can get in the prostate but the side effects were way too much for me to be on the time that is needed to clear the infection from the prostate.

I would get good results and releif within a couple of days on omnicef or doxy

So, I am assuming that a fever (low grade for about 9 days now) is standard with this. I will talk with my doc in regards to the omin--- drug.

Hope you feel better soon. My husband has not had a single attack since taking "Pygeum and Saw Palmetto" combo by Solaray. It's a great preventative.

That's been about 2 yrs now.

Lymetoo is correct about the saw palmetto - I take this all the time now to keep drainage going in there

Abx didn't help me. Had to go to Dr. Jellyfinger and get milked. [Eek!] [Big Grin]
