OK, I decided to try Biaxin 500mg 2 x a day. Then I want to pulse flagyl. Any recommendation for dose?? And how it should be pulsed? Only weekends or something like that?

Thank you!

One LLMD's approach is to do a flagyl pulse one week a month, 500mg twice a day. And if that isn't tolerated then 3-5 days was recommended. This was simultaneous with other abx.

My observation was that I had to increase the probiotics on flagyl.

Just my experience -- it seems like different docs have different views on how to take flagyl.

BE CAREFUL WITH FLAGYL!!!

This drug causes severe herx reactions! My LLMD suggest cutting the pill in a 1/4th and work your way up from there. This drug is very powerful I would suggest staying on the Biaxin like you are and working your way up really slow on the flagyl!

Thank you so much! I hardly tolerated it before, I felt so terribly toxic. That is why I'm also posting on opinions as to whether or not it is smart for my goal to just be remission on a day to day basis. Biaxin alone makes my symptoms go away. Can I skip the flagyl? I do not believe I can rid my body of this disease, but I do believe in remission, with what I know now. It happened one for me, but relapse was hell.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

I am on Pulse, but LLMD would not use Flagyl but Tinidozole as a cyst Buster instead, as follows:-

So Bicillin for Motiles, Ketek for Intra Cellular, Tini For Cyst Buster and a 2 week break for cysts to open (as brorson and Brorsons work)

Benzathine Penicillin (IM) 2.4MU/weekly Taken For full 6 weeks of each phase
Ketek 800mg once per day Taken for 2 weeks of each phase
Tinidazole 500mg Twice Daily Taken for 2 weeks of each phase

Weeks 1 to 6-IM Benzatnine Penicillin is given for 6 weeks within each phase

Weeks 3 & 4-Now Add Ketek*Note Any macrolide other than Ketek will need the addition of hydroxychloroquine.

Weeks 5 & 6-Now STop Ketek and Add Tinidozole *Also use Grapefruit Seed Extract these 2 weks

Weeks 7 & 8 - A 2 week rest period is incorporated at the end of each phase
