I have been on antibiotics for about 6 years and have never had a herx. My doctor just started me on Malarone for the babs, and doubled my doxy, I'm now taking two doxy in the morning and two at night. I'm also on amoxicillin, two in the morning and two at night. He also had me order Artemisia, but that I just got today. I started on the Malarone and increased the doxy about 2 weeks ago.I feel horrible!! I'm having headaches and chills along with sweats and the shakes.I also feel like I'm getting more off balance. My question is, is this a herx or am I having a bad reaction to this medicine? Should I call the doctor cause I have never felt quit like this before? Thanks! [Frown]

Hi Daisy,

I took four malarone a day for three months.

The dizzyness was definitely part of my babs herx...

I actually had a worse herx in my third month than my first...Go figure.

I took malarone with zithromax....I think that doxy lowers the effectiveness of malarone.

You may want to call your LLMD and report your symptoms to be safe..

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

Hi daisylynn,

I hope you were still improving some even though you didn't herx in 6 years.

It sounds like possible herx to me also. And I agree call your doctor just to be safe.

Hope you will be feeling better soon.
