I'm getting on a plane and flying 3000 miles to go see my old doc in CT, and I can not wait to get back on Abx! I'm happy becuase I have a lot of famliy there, but sad becuase I have to leave my wife and dogs behind.
My biggest issue right now is my attitude and depression, it is really bad and affecting my wife and job. Is this something that will go away quick? I'm such a kind and understanding person but right now have a very short fuse and do not put up with anything, everything just turns into a fight with me, and that scares me.
My motivation is also gone, i always used to want to keep busy and help with everything I could around the house....now i just lay on the couch after I get home from work, then fall asleep.
This is really taking it's toll on my marrage and really hope this goes away soon. Posts: 27 | From Las Vegas | Registered: Mar 2007

Good to hear you are going for help! BIG step in the right direction!!!
My thought here is that your lack of motivation is related to the depression and emotional situation. I am NOT a doctor.. but have seen this happen by others and myself.
You probably won't listen to me.. but... I'll try anyway because you seem to be sincere.
If you want the details.. it will have to be later as I am about typed out right now... sorry.
Bottom line.
Chiropractor can help fix where brain stem is inflammed and messed up and pinching off nerves.
After on/off anti-depressents that never worked for the first few years... this is the ONE big major thing that fixes it. For me it is a "night and day" difference.
BUT.. You MUST go in there saying you are depressed. THEN they can address it. I didn't.. so for a long time they never knew.. and didn't address it.

Sorry you are feeling so down. I am happy for you though that you are going to go get treated.
I have alot of problems with depression/anxiety. It used to be constant before I started on abx. I do take Paxil..but that is ones personal choice.
I can say though that ever since my abx treatment started my anxiety/depression is about 90 percent better. Instead of having it constantly I have a day or two of it pop up.
Whichever treatment..natural, chiropractor, or meds..make sure you address it ASAP. Your life will be so much better.
I am seeing my LLMD next week to in Mt. Kisco. I think that is only about 30 minutes from CT. I hope your appt. goes well and you start feeling better soon.

During the times you are not feeling quite as bad and your attitude is better is when you should talk to your wife about how you feel about the fact that you lose it.
One of the first signs of a herx is when I start to get upset, really upset, about everything. My husband understands, intellectually anyway, and he just holds me, not matter what I just said.
It's important that you discuss how this makes your wife feel and how you feel when it happens. It's important that she understands that you're sick. Keep the communication open. Do things you know she likes, frequently, just for the garbage she has to put up with from you.
Maybe we can't get rid of the Lyme rage easily, but we can be sure family understands what's happening and be sure that we're taking care of them the best we can. Doing the extras for them is important ... they certainly put up with extra garbage from us!
Good luck with the dr. visit.
I take St. John's Wort for depression and it helps a lot.
