I've been reading that some people have to use IV antibiotics for chronic lyme. When you have to do this do you need to be in the hospital the whole time, or is it a pump you can wear at home?

Hi jamie, I have had the picc line in twice, no u do not have to stay in the hospital the whole time u have it in. I went in and had it put in and was out with in 4 hours at the most. It is sor of like an iv line u get in the hospital. I had home care to change the banage, but put my own antibiotics in the line and flushing the line. If u want to do the visiting nurses show u how. hope that helped u a little. good luck with the IV, it isn't all that bad. It did help me for a little while best of luck!
